TRN vs TIN in the UAE: Know the Difference 🇦🇪
Tax terminology can be confusing—but using the wrong number may cause delays in registration, reporting, or e-invoicing setup.
Here’s the simple breakdown:
1️⃣ TRN — Tax Registration Number
A 15-digit number issued for UAE tax registrations, including VAT and Corporate Tax.
2️⃣ TIN — Tax Identification Number
For UAE Corporate Tax registrants, the TIN is the first 10 digits of the Corporate Tax TRN.
3️⃣ UAE E-Invoicing
The Participant Identifier, also known as the End Point ID, uses the UAE country code 0235 followed by the 10-digit TIN, subject to applicable technical requirements.
