📅 Did you know? The US CPA exam is moving to a new platform in 2027.

The AICPA announced in August 2026 that, starting July 2027, the exam will run on a new delivery platform with an updated user interface. What it means for your timeline:

🔸 No testing from July 1–11, 2027 while the new system is deployed
🔸 Testing resumes July 12, 2027 on the new platform
🔸 Score releases follow an adjusted schedule for 12 months after launch

🌏 NASBA update: the US CPA exam goes where you are

Per NASBA, the Uniform CPA Exam is offered in 19 international locations, including the Philippines 🇵🇭 and the UAE 🇦🇪.

Good to know:
🔹 You apply through a participating US Board of Accountancy (not every US jurisdiction participates in international testing)
🔹 International candidates' scores are released on the same timeline as US candidates'
🔹 After registering a section, wait at least 24 hours before booking your Prometric appointment

Choosing the right state board is a key first step, and eligibility rules vary by state. iGEM's state-board guidance helps you check credit hours and options before you commit. ✅

According to the AICPA, every section (AUD, FAR, REG, and your chosen discipline: BAR, ISC or TCP) is split into 5 testlets:

1️⃣ Testlets 1–2: multiple-choice questions (MCQs)
2️⃣ Testlets 3–5: task-based simulations (TBSs)

💡 Study tip: Don't stop at MCQs! Simulations test how you apply knowledge to real-world scenarios, so build them into your weekly practice from day one.
