UAE Residency Visa Process Explained | 5 Steps to Get Your UAE Residence Visa | MSI Auditors
Planning to apply for a UAE Residency Visa? In this video, we explain the 5 key steps involved in obtaining a UAE Residence Visa, from the initial application to receiving your Emirates ID.
1️⃣ Entry Permit / Visa Application – Your entry stamp is the trigger for everything that follows. Share the stamped passport with your advisor – only then can the status change process begin.
2️⃣ E-Visa & status change paperwork – Your sponsor or service provider submits the application electronically through the GDRFA or ICP portal, initiating the visa issuance and status change.
3️⃣Medical fitness test – Visit the allocated medical centre with your original passport, medical application form, and stamped entry permit. Results are generally returned within 1–2 working days.
4️⃣ Biometrics – Once the medical fitness certificate is issued, attend your ICP-approved centre appointment for fingerprint scanning. Knees must be covered – dress accordingly.
5️⃣ Residence visa & Emirates ID issuance – Your residence visa is stamped and a soft copy of your Emirates ID appears on the ICP UAE app. The physical card is couriered to your registered address, giving you full access to government and banking services.
In this video, we break down each step, and provide useful tips to help you understand the UAE Residency Visa process in 2026.
