ADGM-FSRA Regulatory Financial Crime Compliance Awareness Summit for Compliance professionals 2026

Aqeel Ahmed Asif - AML, Sanctions & Risk Advisor and Aby P Kurian, CAMS, CRMS in TFS(UAE) – AML Compliance Officer, represented HLB HAMT at the insightful ADGM-FSRA Financial Crime Compliance Awareness Summit 2026, focused on “The Role of Compliance Professionals in Fighting Financial Crime & TFS – 2026.”

The summit provided valuable insights into key regulatory and financial crime developments, including the FATF Mutual Evaluation of the UAE, the UAE National Risk Assessment (NRA), and Sectoral Risk Assessments (SRA), along with the evolving expectations for AML/CFT and Targeted Financial Sanctions (TFS) compliance and FSRA expectations from the regulated entities.

It was an insightful and valuable opportunity to engage with the latest regulatory perspectives and strengthen our understanding of the UAE’s evolving financial crime risk landscape.

As sustainability continues to shape the region’s business landscape, our ESG team joined industry leaders at the Dubai Environment Conference & Exhibition (DECE) 2026, held under the theme “Protecting Our Environment, Securing Our Future.”

The event, hosted by the newly established Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority (DECCA), brought together government leaders, industry experts, and academics to advance climate action, biodiversity, food security, and circular economy initiatives across the region.

The formation of DECCA reflects Dubai's clear commitment to placing environmental action and sustainability at the heart of its future, a direction we're proud to support and align with as part of our own ESG journey.

Connected Markets. Sustainable Futures.

These themes shaped the 2026 HLB Asia Pacific & Emerging Markets Conference in Ho Chi Minh City, bringing together professionals from across the HLB global network to exchange perspectives, strengthen collaboration, and explore opportunities across some of the region’s most dynamic markets.

Representing HLB HAMT, our senior partner Jay Krishnan, vice president, ESG Vinod Nambiar and director - tax & compliance CA Girish Nair joined peers from across the network for discussions spanning regional market dynamics, innovation in professional services, sustainable growth, global partnerships and cross-border collaboration.
