These themes shaped the 2026 HLB Asia Pacific & Emerging Markets Conference in Ho Chi Minh City, bringing together professionals from across the HLB global network to exchange perspectives, strengthen collaboration, and explore opportunities across some of the region’s most dynamic markets.

Representing HLB HAMT, our senior partner Jay Krishnan, vice president, ESG Vinod Nambiar and director - tax & compliance CA Girish Nair joined peers from across the network for discussions spanning regional market dynamics, innovation in professional services, sustainable growth, global partnerships and cross-border collaboration.

The conference provided a valuable platform to exchange ideas, share experiences and strengthen connections across the HLB network. Beyond the sessions, it was an opportunity to build relationships that extend across markets and create greater possibilities for collaboration.

These three principles formed the foundation of this year's HLB Advisory – Tax – Audit Conference 2026, bringing together professionals from across the HLB global network to exchange perspectives, strengthen collaboration, and explore the future of our profession.

Representing HLB HAMT, Senior Partners Sumesh Krishna and Manoj Kumar, along with our Head of Digital Transformation, Balasubramannaim Pillai, joined global peers for insightful discussions on AI, audit quality, tax, regulatory developments, leadership, digital transformation, and the evolving expectations of clients.

The conference provided a valuable platform to share best practices, challenge perspectives, and strengthen the global collaboration. Conversations may have concluded, but the insights, connections, and shared experiences will continue to shape how we collaborate across the HLB network and deliver greater value to our clients.

Our team members Aqeel Ahmed Asif and Nithin Venugopalan represented HLB HAMT at the Designated Non- Financial Businesses & Professions (DNFBP) Compliance & Risk Summit - 2nd Edition, a key forum on regulatory expectations and the evolving compliance landscape, including virtual assets, for Designated Non-Financial Businesses and Professions across the UAE.

An excellent day of conversations on where AML/CFT compliance is heading for DNFBPs and VASPs. A few themes stood out:
→ The shift to a genuinely risk-based approach under the UAE's evolving AML framework (Federal Law 10/2025 and Cabinet Resolution 134/2025)
→ Rising regulatory expectations around AML/CFT compliance framework
→ The growing role of virtual assets and the compliance obligations they bring for regulated businesses
→ The role of independent AML audits in demonstrating a compliance programme.

Regulation in this space doesn't stand still, and neither do we. By staying engaged with the conversations shaping the sector, HLB HAMT stays ahead of what's coming and makes sure our clients are never caught off guard, but always a step ahead too.
