The UAE Federal Tax Authority is launching EmaraTax on 5 December 2022

The Ministry of Finance (M*F) has announced that starting January 2023, board members across institutions in the UAE will not be subject to value added tax (VAT).

The tax will still be applicable for legal persons who have appointed a board member to act in the name of the legal person.

The Federal Tax Authority has launched the Raqeeb Initiative that includes the Whistleblower System for Violation and Tax Evasion, which aims to activate community control over local markets, raise the level of tax compliance in the country and reduce cases of tax evasion.

The Federal Tax Authority intensifies its monitoring efforts to achieve compliance, and combat tax evasion by carrying out 2,202 inspection visits in local markets during July 2022.
