📢 Important Update for UAE Private Sector Workers and Business Owners!
The UAE government has announced a new rule under Ministerial Resolution No. 340 of 2026 to ensure everyone gets paid on time, every time.
Beginning June 1, 2026, all private sector salaries must be transferred by the 1st of the month.
What happens if a payment is late? Authorities have outlined a strict escalating penalty timeline:
Day 2: Electronic monitoring and warnings.
Day 5: Suspension of new work permits.
Day 11: Administrative fines and company downgrading.
Day 21: Legal referrals for larger companies and potential asset seizures.
Are there exemptions? Yes! Certain categories like short-term permits (under 3 months), fishing boats, and citizen-owned taxis are exempt from these specific calculations.
Stay informed and ensure your workplace is ready for the transition! Have questions about how this affects you? Drop them in the comments below. 👇
