COLLEGE FOOTPRINTS NPC
INDEPENDENT REVIEWER'S REPORT

To all the parties that have an interest in the College Footprints NPC.

Report on the Financial Information
Having been requested in April this year by The Administration Team of Old Mooi Short Stories project to provide an independent financial oversight /monitoring function, I have reviewed the interim financial information to 31 August 2021 as well as other explanatory information presented to me by the directors of the College Footprints NPC

Directors’ Responsibility for the Financial Information
The company’s directors are responsible for the day-to-day flow of funds and the running of this project, and the recording and the presentation of the financial records in order for me to review the historical financial information in terms of my engagement responsibilities as agreed with the project’s directors.

Independent Reviewer’s Responsibility
My responsibility is to express a conclusion on the financial information based on my review. I conducted my review in accordance with International Standards on Review Engagements to review historical financial information in terms of my engagement responsibilities as agreed with the project’s directors. This review requires me to comply with relevant ethical requirements, and to conclude as to whether anything untoward has come to my attention as to the flow of funds and the running of this project, and the recording and the presentation of the financial records. My review consists primarily of making inquiries of management and others within the project involved in financial and accounting matters, applying analytical procedures, and evaluating the sufficiency and appropriateness of evidence obtained.
I believe that the evidence obtained in my review is sufficient and appropriate to provide a basis for my conclusion.

Conclusion
Based on my review, nothing has come to my attention that causes me to believe that the financial information does not present fairly, in all material respects the financial position of College Footprints NPC as at 31 August 2021 and its financial performance and cash flows for the period then ended, in accordance with my engagement responsibilities as agreed with the project’s directors’ , and International Financial Standards.

College Footprints Coffee Table book project
Information of interest regarding the project:

1. The Admin Team consists of Allan Boardman, Jeff Leader, Duncan Fourie, Rorisang Matsiela, Jerry Motsisi and Julian Eisenhammer.
2. College Footprints NPC, a non-profit company was specifically registered for this project on 12 May 2021 – Registration Number 2021/607589/08.
3. Three members The Admin Team, Allan Boardman, Jeff Leader and Julian Eisenhammer were appointed as directors of NPC.
4. The Old Boys Society has been invited to provide two representatives for oversight purposes (by invitation- not as members of The Admin Team) to attend the monthly project meetings i.e., Basil Kletz and Geoff Peck. Don Collins is nominated as the alternate to Basil Kletz.
5. In addition, a bank account, also specific to this project in the name of “College Footprints” was opened with Nedbank on 25th June 2021. The current account number is 1214420206.
6. The same three directors of College Footprints NPC, were appointed as authorised signatories/ custodians of the Nedbank bank account.
7. In the making of any disbursement from the bank account, the approval of all three signatories is required.
8. The only disbursements that have been made from the Nedbank account to date, relate to the running costs of the project and represent specifically the fees paid to Square Cloud (Karin Panaino Petersen & Madelaine Daly), the company appointed to produce the coffee table book.
9. It should be noted that no benefits or rewards have accrued to / nor will in the future to any members of The Admin Team. They all provide their time free of charge on this project on a voluntary basis.
10. Should there be any excess remaining in the Nedbank account on conclusion of this project during 2022, such excess will be distributed to The Shining Light Trust. The trustees of The Shining Light Trust are Geoff Peck, Andrew Cole and Rob Kimmings.
11. Thereafter College Footprints NPC will be deregistered, and the Nedbank bank account will be immediately closed.
12. Contributors to the fundraising initiative have the option of either depositing their donations into the abovementioned Nedbank account, or should they wish to receive a Section 18A Tax Certificate, then depositing into The Shining Light Trust. Bank account details for both accounts have been provided to all members on a regular basis. The Shining Light Trust has proved to be a popular option for those requiring the benefit of a tax-deductible donation i.e., the Section 18A Tax Certificate.
13. A detailed budget was prepared for the first phase of the project i.e., the preparation of all material to be handed over to the printers for the production of the coffee table book. The budgeted costs for this phase were R300k, and that amount has been successfully raised through donations from Old Boys.
14. The second phase of the project relates to the printing costs of the coffee table books. There are two possible routes for the financing of those costs: a) pre-sales and only ordering from the printers the number of books paid for upfront or b) the raising of corporate sponsorship by The Shining Light Trust to cover the costs of printing. Should the first option be pursued, there would be little excess generated for the benefit of The Shining Light Trust. If the second option is pursued, the full sales proceeds net of distribution costs, would then be transferred to The Shining Light Trust upon conclusion of the project.
