Provisional tax returns deadline - 19 January 2026
Company tax returns deadline - 28 February 2026

Please be aware of this scam letter going around. The 1st red flag that I picked up was the FNB banking details. Please note that SARS is a bank-listed / public beneficiary and their banking details will not be displayed on their correspondence. 2nd thing to look out for, your individual tax reference number will always reflect. If you are unsure, check your efiling account, all correspondence from SARS will be posted on your account. 👍

Please note that the individual tax filing season will open from 7 July for the 2025 financial year. From 7 to 20 July, SARS will issue automatic assessments for qualifying taxpayers. These assessments are based on third party data from employers, pension funds, medical schemes and other institutions. Individuals who do not receive an automatic assessment notification, are required to file their income tax returns between 21 July and 20 October 2025.
