π» DADS - YOU NEED TO HAVE A WILL.
HERE'S WHY:
πππππ
Having a will is not a luxury of the wealthy; in fact, one could argue that middle income earners require the protection of a will more so than their wealthy counterparts.
Should you die without a valid will in place; the winding up of your estate will follow the requirements set in the Intestate Succession Act, thus disregarding any wishes that you may have had regarding the disbursement of your wealth.
πππππ
What about your kids?
Should your heirs be minors, their inheritance will be placed in The Guardians fund to be managed by the state until they are 18 years of age. The surviving spouse may end up receiving a much-reduced share of the inheritance.
πππππ
Did you know...
After all assets are sold, there is a possibility that the surviving spouse may not have sufficient funds to provide for the basic necessities of the household.
Make sure you have the final say, draft a will!

Financial Literacy Tips
Prioritise π° SAVINGS π° even when living from pay-cheque to pay-cheque.
A strict approach to how you split your income between financial goals and short-term discretionary expenses is key to prioritising saving when you are living pay-cheque to pay-cheque.
The initial discomfort of putting more money πΈ towards financial freedom will be balanced out when debt is no longer a line item in your budget. π¦
PLUS, once you've eliminated debt π, the fraction of your income that would've gone towards repayments can now start growing into a sizeable amount of savings so you can realise your financial goals.
