History is replete with examples of great powers who undid themselves by spending on war and empire - in the end often with debt - while neglecting the core concerns of the domestic economy. Hegemonic America is following imperial Spain and imperial Britain into the same morass. But it is a choice, not a fate.

Could this be the iPhone Revolution?

The proliferation of one-sided, anti-Obama or anti-Romney content symbolize nothing more than the height of stupidity, for it represents a clear indication of whole-heartedly buying into what should easily be construed as a dangerous and ever-so present system of distraction and misdirection. Our civil liberties are eroding before our very eyes, the Constitution has been rendered irrelevant, our money isn't worth the digital paper it's being printed on; voices of interests, not democracy ring loud in the chambers of Congress; the U.S. "sphere of influence" which desperately needs to be kept in check and henceforth referred to as "empire", has become structurally and financially strained; U.S. National Debt has surpassed $16 Trillion, with no end in sight, yet most concerning of all is the crisis of values facing Americans, as the importance of entertainment, in its innumerable and useless varieties and forms, has far surpassed the importance of education, in addition to the duty and responsibility that each individual play the Citizens Role. Stay informed. Stay social.

How soon we forget the Lessons of History.

Government does not create resources when it taxes people and prints money; it merely redistributes the wealth, while supporting a massive, wasteful bureaucracy along the way.

Government is a giant, blood-sucking parasite on our otherwise healthy economy. For too long we have entrusted too much economic power and influence to irresponsible politicians in Washington.

But realigning our economy with the free market and away from government mandates and handouts must happen in order for it to thrive again.

We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals so that security and liberty may prosper together.
