The home office deduction is not limited to homeowners. Renters may also deduct the business-use percentage of eligible housing costs when the space qualifies as a home office.
For renters, that may include a portion of rent, utilities, cleaning, and certain repairs. Homeowners may qualify for a portion of mortgage interest, utilities, depreciation, and other eligible expenses.
The key is calculating the business-use percentage correctly and keeping clear records.

Before you log off for the weekend, make sure your books reflect what happened in your business this week.
Record your transactions, upload your receipts, and reconcile your accounts. A few minutes today can save you hours of searching and correcting later.
When your books are in order, you can step away and enjoy your weekend with one less thing on your mind.

โBut what you're not going to do is postpone your dream for five years to make their dream a reality right now.โ
Sometimes loving the people in your life means helping them. But helping should not always require abandoning what God has placed on your heart for your own future.
There is a difference between sacrifice and losing yourself in someone elseโs expectations.
You can love your family, honor them, and still be a good steward of the life, opportunities, and dreams you have been given.
Have you ever had to choose between helping someone you love and protecting your own future?

Not every business purchase has to be depreciated over several years.
With the de minimis safe harbor election, eligible items costing $2,500 or less may be deducted as an immediate business expense. This can include furniture, repairs, maintenance, cleaning services, photography, and video production.
Purchases above that amount may need to be depreciated or handled through Section 179. The right strategy depends on the purchase and your overall tax situation.
Were you familiar with the $2,500 threshold? Let me know in the comments.

Welcome to ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐ป๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฎ๐น ๐๐น๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐, where we break down financial terms into clear, practical language you can use in everyday life and business. Today, weโre starting with liquidity.
๐๐ถ๐พ๐๐ถ๐ฑ๐ถ๐๐ is how quickly and easily you can convert something you own into cash without losing much of its value.
Cash in a checking or savings account is highly liquid because you can access it quickly. Real estate, vehicles, and business equipment are less liquid because selling them can take time.
Why does liquidity matter? Having valuable assets does not always mean you have money available to cover an immediate expense.
For individuals, liquidity provides flexibility during emergencies. For business owners, it helps cover payroll, taxes, bills, and daily operating expenses.
Building wealth is important, but keeping enough cash accessible is part of managing it wisely.
What financial term would you like us to simplify next?
