💰 The money made it to the bank... but did it make it into your books correctly?
Seeing a deposit in QuickBooks doesn’t necessarily mean your revenue is right.
During bookkeeping cleanups, I commonly find things like:
✔️ Customer payments recorded as brand-new income
✔️ Deposits duplicated through the bank feed
✔️ Payments sitting in Undeposited Funds for months
✔️ Mobile or cash deposits that were never properly matched
✔️ Bank deposits that don’t match the customer payments recorded in the books
And the result?
Your P&L can show more income than you actually earned, your Balance Sheet can carry balances that shouldn’t be there, and you may be making business decisions based on numbers that simply aren’t accurate.
This is exactly what bookkeeping cleanup is for.
At TidyBooks, I don’t just categorize transactions and move on. I dig into the why, trace the money, reconcile the accounts, and work to make sure what QuickBooks says happened actually matches what happened in your business.
Not sure your deposits and revenue are telling the same story?
