So QuickBooks makes managing your business easier, but then again, if you have never opened it before and are seeing it for the first time, you might feel slightly confused.

You are not alone!

So I wanted to share three quick functions of QuickBooks so that you feel a little bit lighter when you open it up again.

The first thing that I really like about QuickBooks is that you can attach a receipt right on your phone. Pretty cool!!

Another feature you can take advantage of is automating bank feeds. You can connect your business bank account directly to QuickBooks so transactions can flow automatically.

Lastly, I absolutely have to mention that you can tell QuickBooks to recognize recurring charges, and it will automatically categorize them for you. So, like software subscriptions, bills, vendors you name it!

1099 payouts can be hard to balance....

For example, a framing crew finishes work on a residential build, but the lumber inspection gets delayed by a few days.

Your man (the framer) hands you an invoice for about $8,600 due on receipt; meanwhile, your progress is stuck because you are waiting on the inspector's sign-off.

Now it's getting complex because you could pay your man out of operating cash, but then your electrical deposits bounce the following week.

However, if you hold their check, the crew could choose another job.

It's that gap that I find a lot of people having trouble with.

And it's that gap that I help contractors solve.

Seeing 1099 payouts get back on track always puts a smile on my face!
