Got a great gift of appreciation from a client today. Huckleberry Truffles. Not only do I love huckleberries, but it brings back lots of fond childhood memories of picking huckleberries with grandparents and other relatives during our summer vacations in Teton Valley Idaho.

IRS mistakenly tells thousands of Americans they won't receive their stimulus checks 02/05/2021

Another IRS Oops. Apparently the IRS in January sent out letters to over 100,000 taxpayers that they would not receive their stimulus payments in error. Here's a link with more details in case you got one of these erroneous letters.

Daily update! This morning, the Secretary of the Treasury, Steven Mnuchin announced that the filing deadline for federal taxes has been moved to July 15th for this year. Earlier in the week they had announced that payments were being deferred until July 15th and now apparently the returns due on April 15th are now due 3 months later

We again encourage anyone in a high risk group to consider getting us your tax information remotely instead of an in person meeting. As for an update regarding filing and payment deadlines for this years taxes, the Franchise Tax Bpard announced last Friday that the tax filing deadline for California purposes has been extended until June 15th. The due date for payments has been extended until June 15th also with no interest or penalties until that date. For federal purposes, there have been no changes as of yet to the filing deadlines, but they have announced that payments due on April 15th will now not be due until July 15th. There has been a lot of talk that the federal tax filing dates could be extended, but as of now, all returns due on April 15th still need to be filied by that date.

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

This is my hobby when not doing taxes. I donated a certificate for $250 worth of my services to a silent auction being held at this event. So, if you want a fun evening, you can come enjoy the meal and show and bid on the gift certificate. I'm not sure how much interest there will be for a gift certificate for tax preparation or IRS representation this time of year, so you might be able to enjoy a fun date, and also get my services at a discount.

We are just 3 weeks away from the show! So many great quartets, raffle items, auction items, and most of all great music and friends. Tickets are going fast. Get yours at www.voicesofcalifornia.org look forward to seeing you there!
