Tax Filings Preparation – 40%
Assist in preparing, drafting and analyzing tax filings to include: Federal and State Business & Personal tax returns, State Sales & Use tax. Under supervision, compile and analyze tax documentation to include:
Meeting with clients to acquire required filing documentation and analyze tax applicability for Federal and State tax laws.
Prepare and analyze Profit & Loss Statements, and Balance Sheet Statements.
Enter corresponding journal entries as required for year-end reconciliation.
Draft Business and Personal State and Federal Income tax returns to be reviewed by CPA, to include: 1040, 1040X, 1041, 1120, 1120S, 1065, 990, and others.
Meet with CPA to review finalized adjustments, so CPA may submit finalized Federal and State Income tax return.
Accounting – 60%
Check and verify source documents such as invoices, receipts, computer printouts.
Allocate and post financial transaction details to subsidiary books.
Reconcile and balance all accounts.
Draw up financial statements (trial balance, income statement, balance sheet.)
Comply with relevant reporting requirements.
Provide audit support to clients.

IR-2021-59, March 17, 2021 — The Treasury Department and Internal Revenue Service announced today that the federal income tax filing due date for individuals for the 2020 tax year will be automatically extended from April 15, 2021, to May 17, 2021.
