If you want $100,000 a year in retirement income, how much money do you actually need saved?

Using the traditional 4% withdrawal guideline, you'd need roughly $2.5 million invested to start withdrawing that amount annually.

Want $200,000 a year?

Now you're looking at $5 million.

And that's not a guaranteed paycheck. You still have to consider taxes, market downturns, and how long your money needs to last.

Now, I'm not saying the 4% rule is useless. It's a common retirement planning guideline, and it has its place.

But when I started looking at those numbers, I had a question.

What if, instead of spending the next 30 years trying to save up a few million dollars, I focused on building assets that could produce the income my family needed?

That's what changed how I approached retirement.

Instead of only asking how much money I could save, I started asking how much monthly cash flow I could create.

And that's the thinking behind my Passive Income Machine.

I don't want you to just take my word for it. I want you to understand the numbers and see how building cash flow compares with traditional retirement planning.

That's what we'll be breaking down on October 20th at 6pm Mountain Time.

I remember getting one of my first real paychecks and thinking I'd finally made it.

I had my degree, a good job, and a growing family.

But then I started looking at where all that money was going.

Taxes, insurance, bills, everyday expenses...

By the time everything was paid, there wasn't nearly as much left as I'd expected.

So I figured the solution was simple. I needed to make more money.

And that's what I focused on.

I worked harder, earned more, saved more, and kept putting money into my retirement accounts.

But even as my investments grew, there was something I couldn't answer.

When would I actually have enough money to stop working?

Because making a good living and being financially free aren't necessarily the same thing.

Looking back, I wish I'd understood earlier that earning and saving more money was only part of the equation. I also needed to learn how to use that money to build income that could eventually replace my paycheck.

That's exactly what I'll be breaking down in my free webinar on October 20th at 6pm Mountain Time.

One of the things that really changed how I looked at retirement was watching coworkers have to push theirs back.

These were people who had worked hard for decades.

They'd saved their money, contributed to their retirement accounts, and followed the advice they'd been given their entire careers.

But when the market dropped, suddenly some of them were talking about working another few years.

And I remember thinking that could easily be me.

Because I was following the same plan.

I was earning good money, saving consistently, and investing for a retirement that was still decades away.

But I couldn't control what the stock market would be doing when I was finally ready to stop working.

That bothered me.

I wanted to find a way to have more control over my retirement income, rather than depending entirely on how much money I'd accumulated in an investment account.

That's what got me interested in building passive income through assets I could own.

And eventually, it led me to develop the Passive Income Machine.

Because if the market dropped right before I planned to retire, I didn't want my only option to be working another five years.

That's why I believe it's worth understanding how income-producing assets can fit into your retirement plan.

I'll be walking through that approach in my free webinar on October 20th at 6pm Mountain Time.

If you're making $150K or more a year but still aren't sure when you'll be able to retire, I want you to think about something.

You're probably doing everything you've been told to do.

Saving consistently, contributing to your 401(k), investing every month, and growing your retirement accounts.

But how much income would those investments actually produce if you stopped working tomorrow?

That's the question I wish more people were asking.

Because having a million dollars invested and having enough money coming in every month to cover your lifestyle are two very different things.

I started approaching retirement differently when I stopped focusing solely on how much I could save and began focusing on how much cash flow I could generate.

That's what led me to develop the Passive Income Machine.

You're already earning the money. Now the question is how to turn that income into assets that can eventually pay you without having to work.

That's what I want to help you understand.

If you save up for a vacation every year and start over at zero when you get home, there is a better way to pay for the same trip.

My wife Bethany and I used to do it the normal way. We put money in a bank account. We spent it on a great trip with our kids. Then we came home and started saving again. It worked, but the account went back to zero every year.

Then we set up something we call a Lifestyle Vault. It is a special kind of whole life insurance policy that is built to hold cash. We gave it one rule. It can only be used for fun.

Here is how we use it. The money we used to put in the bank now goes into the Vault. When it is time for a trip, we borrow against the Vault to pay for it. When we get home, we pay that loan back with the same money we would have saved for the next trip anyway.

The trip is the same. The amount we save each month is the same. The difference is that we borrowed the money, so we never took it out. Our full balance keeps growing the whole time, even while we are on the beach.

We have done this for more than 10 years. That one account has grown to several hundred thousand dollars. The growth alone could now pay for our vacations.

Most money passes through your life one time. You earn it, save it, spend it and start over. Before your next big planned expense, ask yourself one question. Could that money be growing somewhere before I spend it?

If you have stayed away from rental homes because you think you have to find a bargain, fix it up yourself and live close by, I have good news. Those rules are 40 years old, and the man who wrote them has changed his mind.

My co-author, Robert Allen, wrote the books Nothing Down and Creating Wealth. For years he taught 4 rules. Never pay full price. Put little or no money down. Only buy within 50 miles of home. Do the repairs yourself.

Those rules made sense back then. There were no companies that did the work for you. If you wanted a rental, you had to find it, buy it, fix it, rent it and manage it. You were the whole team.

When I showed Bob how I buy homes, he told me he was offended. I was paying full price, putting 25% down, and buying homes 2,000 miles from where I live.

Here is what is different now. You can buy a home that is already fixed up and already has a renter in it. A company has done all of that work, and it often manages the home for you after you buy it. You put 20 to 25% down and get a 30-year loan with a payment that never changes. And you can buy in a city where the numbers work, even if you have never been there.

Yes, that company makes a profit. Bob now says that 10 years from now the higher price won't matter, and the freedom will.

There is one warning. If you buy the wrong home, in the wrong city, with the wrong team, borrowed money makes your losses bigger too.

So the skill today is picking the right home, the right city and the right team. You do not need to be a bargain hunter or a handyman.
