The story behind Amazing Grace. Because this has been in the works for years. ❤️
I started college when my boys were little. I was working full time, chasing all four boys (our 2 and our 2 nephews) to whatever activity they had going on, and keeping things moving at home while Josh worked on the road. Eventually, it all became too much, and I put college on that shelf of life labeled “to be continued…” :)
Fast forward about 15 years. After working in finance and accounting in some capacity for years, I decided it was time to go back to school and earn my degree. And this business? It’s a dream that had been stirring in the back of my mind for just as long.
My original plan was to keep working my full-time job, continue school, and build this business part time. But God had different plans. Life changed, and there I was, rolling with it. I shifted gears and started turning my part-time plan into my full-time future.
If you know my family, you know we show up for each other. We cheer the loudest, celebrate the wins, and support each other through the hard parts. I’ve also been blessed with friends who do the same. To everyone who has encouraged me, celebrated with me, or supported me along the way: Thank You. And to those who couldn’t be there, please know I understand and feel your love just the same.
Before this transition, I was having migraines so bad that I called my momma and asked her to go to the hospital with me (that’s when you know it’s bad!). When the medication still wasn’t helping, another night ended with a trip to the ER. These days, my migraines are minimal, my stress is down, and my happiness is up. And if I need to take a morning off to watch one of the babies play ball, I can. That means more to me than I can explain.
I’m so happy, and I’m looking forward to helping businesses in our communities get their finances in order and understand what their numbers mean.
I’ve always chased that “I’m proud of you” from my parents—and honestly, I still do. I want them to be proud of who I am and what I’ve accomplished. But when my son said, “I’m proud of you, Mom,” that hit different.
I want to leave my children something special. I want to show them that it’s never too late to follow a dream, even one you had to put on the shelf for a while. And I want them to know I’ll be there cheering them on, just as my parents have always been there for all of us.
This dream has been years in the making, and I’m so grateful to finally be living it. Here’s to the next chapter. ❤️
