There’s nothing quite like working with horses to keep you humble.

Some days, everything falls into place. Other days, you get a pretty quick reminder that you’re not in control of everything.
Training horses has taught me patience, consistency, clear communication, and the value of building a solid foundation before asking for more. Those lessons have a way of showing up in the rest of life, too.

That’s a big part of why I love this life, even on the frustrating days.

Financial services may be my profession, but horses and agriculture will always be a big part of who I am.

How it started → How it’s going.

From meeting my person, to saying “I do,” to watching him become a dad, these photos tell some of my favorite chapters.
Building a family changes the way you think about the future. It’s also one of the reasons I’m so passionate about the work I do. I get to help families plan for what matters most, protect the people they love, and feel more confident about the road ahead.
For me, that work is personal.

Rodeo has taught me that success rarely happens all at once. It takes preparation, patience, discipline, and the willingness to keep showing up.

Those same lessons shape how I approach financial planning. You prepare for what you can, stay focused when things get unpredictable, and keep working toward the bigger goal.
Whether I’m competing in the arena or helping clients plan for their future, I believe the best results come from putting in the work today and staying committed for the long run.

Retirement planning looks different when there isn’t an HR department reminding you about it.

For ranchers, contractors, horse professionals, and other self-employed individuals, retirement preparation often requires more intentional attention because there may not be an employer benefit structure doing the prompting. The first step doesn’t have to be complicated. Start by thinking about what you want retirement to look like, when you would ideally like work to become optional, and what resources you are already building toward that future. Then learn about the options available to you based on your individual situation. Starting the conversation earlier can give you more time to prepare.

A big part of why financial education matters to me is personal.

Growing up, I saw how financial stress could shape a family. Now, as a wife and mom, I want to build something different. A future where we can enjoy what we’ve worked for, prepare for what’s ahead, protect our family, and teach our kids about money earlier than I learned it.

I don’t have it all figured out, and that’s the point. This page is about learning, preparing, and building a better future together.

Emergency Fund: Are You Ready for the Unexpected?

If one of your livestock needed an emergency vet visit tomorrow, would an unexpected bill put pressure on your finances?
Emergencies rarely come at a convenient time. Building an emergency fund, even a little at a time, can help you cover unexpected expenses without disrupting the rest of your financial plans.
Start small. Stay consistent. Give yourself more room to handle the unexpected.

Financial services might be part of what I do, but it’s definitely not all of who I am. Most days around here involve some combination of horses, cows, work, family and probably something that didn’t go according to plan. Agriculture has taught me a lot about patience, consistency, hard work, and figuring things out as you go. Those lessons carry over into almost every area of my life—including how I think about money. I want this page to be a place where I can share both sides: real life AND financial education that actually makes sense for families like ours. So here’s a little glimpse of life. What has been keeping you busy lately?
