Comment “HUF” and get the free HUF Gifting Rules Checklist.

Your ₹50 Lakh HUF Transfer Could Create a Hidden Tax Problem!

Section 64(2) of the Income Tax Act can impact you if you transfer your own money or property to your HUF.

Before transferring large amounts to your HUF, understand the tax impact first.

At SaveTaxs, our Indian CAs + US CPAs help NRIs review cross-border tax structures before making major financial moves.

Comment “FBAR” and get guidance on handling your unreported foreign accounts.

NRI Alert: A $16,356 IRS Penalty Can Happen Without Any Tax Due!

Many NRIs think filing income tax returns is the only requirement — but foreign account reporting is a separate compliance rule.

If your combined foreign financial accounts (Indian savings accounts, FDs, mutual funds, joint accounts, etc.) cross $10,000 at any point during the year, you may need to file an FBAR (Foreign Bank Account Report).

FBAR is not a tax payment. It is a disclosure requirement.

Missing it can lead to serious IRS penalties depending on whether the mistake is considered Non-Willful or Willful.

Stay compliant. Avoid unnecessary IRS notices.

Returning to India from the UK?

Leaving the UK doesn’t automatically end your tax obligations.

Tax residency, capital gains, foreign assets, pensions and inheritance tax may still matter.

Plan your UK exit carefully to avoid unexpected tax issues.

Moving abroad? Your NPS doesn’t have to move out of your life.

PFRDA allows NRIs and OCIs to retain their NPS Tier I accounts even after relocating overseas, subject to the applicable NRE/NRO account requirements.

You can continue investing from abroad, manage your investment allocation, and let your retirement savings grow.

However, Tier II remains unavailable for NRIs and OCIs.

If you’re planning to move abroad—or have already moved—make sure your NPS, banking and investment arrangements are aligned with the rules.
