IR-2023-05, January 12, 2023 — The Internal Revenue Service today announced Monday, January 23, 2023, as the beginning of the nation's 2023 tax season when the agency will begin accepting and processing 2022 tax year returns.

The Senior Tax Associate will be responsible for preparation of personal (individual (including Multi state tax returns; limited partnership investments), trust, gift tax, private foundation and business tax returns (S Corporations, limited liability corporations and partnerships) using a computerized tax software program, Drake.
Responsibilities
•Undertake tax compliance assignments for corporations and partnerships.
•Review tax returns and projects of Tax Staff while gaining increasing responsibility with the review process.
•Assist in staff development and training.
•Research and consult on various tax engagements.
•Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities.
•Responsible for more complex tax return preparation.
•Write-up of books and records for business and charitable entities.
•Utilize tax preparation software to prepare, review and process returns.
Position Requirements
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
•Knowledge of tax software, preferably Drake
•Heavy compliance with partnership, individual, and corporate returns.
•Some planning and problem solving experience.
•3+ years of recent or current CPA Firm experience.
•Strong accounting and analytical skills.
•Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
•Proficient use of technology including MS Excel; and
•Strong attention to detail.
