TAX UPDATE: The IRS has now issued formal guidance through notice 2020-17 regarding the extension of the payment due dates. Any balance normally due by 4/15 will be granted an extension of time to pay until 7/15. This also includes Q1 2020 estimated tax payments, if you are required to do so.
If you plan on making the full payment by 7/15 we would advise you to just file your return like you normally would with the balance due and make sure you pay in full by 7/15. No need to file an extension.
