Residents deserve facts, not campaign slogans, hashtags or fear mongering when it comes to a basic necessity like water!

The water that supplies the Town’s commercial district comes from an agreement the Town made with the City of Middletown in the 1980’s specifically for the Town’s commercial corridor. The Town Board back then annexed land to the City of Middletown in exchange for a guaranteed amount of water and sewer per day from the city. The Town is not taking water resources away from our residents for the warehouses. The suggestion of that is purely to promote fear in the community.
Also, it should be noted that the property that was annexed from the Town of Wawayanda into the City of Middletown, the property owner sued the Town of Wawayanda to be annexed into the City because they weren’t able to develop the property the way they wanted to in the Town of Wawayanda.

How Land Use Works
Applications that meet zoning codes get approved those that don’t get denied.
Some people think the Town can “just say no”, here is an example of what happens when the Town does that. April 2025 the Planning Board denied RDM 7 a special use permit for a warehouse on Route 6. The developer sued the Town and the Planning Board. October 2025 State Supreme Court Judge ordered the denial thrown out as arbitrary and capricious and ordered the Planning Board to issue the special use permit.
The Judge was clear; the board can’t deny an allowed use because people don’t like it.
The Town Board has tightened the rules for warehouses, since the Town Board did this, there hasn’t been a new warehouse application. The Town Board is also in the process of changing our solid waste law to not allow transfer stations in the Town.

HAVE YOU SEEN THE NEWS ABOUT THE POSSIBLE 64% TAX INCREASE IN THE TOWN OF WALLKILL?
Conservative budgeting has made sure we won’t have that issue in the Town of Wawayanda while I am the Supervisor.
The NYS Comptroller’s Office cited the town for under estimating income. What they didn’t state is that a lot of this income is variable. I believe it is better to error on the side of caution when creating the budget. The extra income we have has allowed us to make additional investments in the Town without raising taxes.
Here is a link to the article in case you didn't see it.

TOWN OF WALLKILL - Supervisor Frank DenDanto could be forced to raise property taxes by a whopping 64 percent in the Town of Wallkill next year due to what he a

Regarding the proposed water district consolidation in Wawayanda: I want to clarify a few points. This decision would ONLY impact residents who live within one of the five established water districts—not the entire town. The Town Board remains committed to transparency and has shared materials, including cost comparisons and consolidation scenarios. The Town Board has reached out to encourage all affected residents to contact the Supervisor's office directly with questions or to share your opinions on this matter if they are unable to attend the meeting. We are committed to providing more details and addressing concerns transparently which is the reason for a second informational meeting. That said, the public info meeting tomorrow (Feb 19 at 7 PM, Shannen Park) is a great chance to learn more and voice your thoughts.
Transparency benefits everyone—let’s discuss facts, not fear.
