⚠️ Tax Scams Happen All Year—But Peak During Tax Season
The IRS warns that tax scams increase significantly during filing season. Scammers often pose as the IRS through calls, texts, emails, or social media messages to steal your personal and financial information.
🔍 Stay alert for:
• Fake IRS phone calls demanding immediate payment
• Emails or texts asking you to “verify” your SSN or bank info
• Threats of arrest or legal action
• Promises of “extra refunds” that sound too good to be true
❗ Important Reminder:
The IRS will NEVER contact you by text, social media, or email to demand payment.

🚨 IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR BUSINESS OWNERS
The IRS is getting more strict on income reporting and deductions.
If you have a business and received a 1099-NEC or used a business bank account, your books must be in order.
✔️ Receipts & invoices
✔️ Accurate income records
✔️ Profit & Loss (P&L) statement
⚠️ If your records are not organized, a standard tax appointment will take longer and additional services (book clean-up & income calculation) will be required.
📞 Please contact me to schedule the proper services so we can file correctly and stay compliant.

🚨 1099 REMINDER FOR BUSINESS OWNERS & SELF-EMPLOYED 🚨
If you paid contractors or non-employees in 2025, this is your reminder 👇
📌 1099 forms MUST be filed by January 31, 2026
✅ WHO NEEDS A 1099?
You must issue a 1099-NEC to:
Independent contractors
Freelancers
Consultants
Anyone not on payroll
Paid $600 or more during the year
(Payments made by credit card or third-party processors like PayPal, Stripe, Square are usually excluded — those are reported separately.)
📅 IMPORTANT DEADLINES
✔ January 31, 2026
Deadline to SEND 1099s to contractors
Deadline to FILE 1099s with the IRS
Applies to paper & e-filed forms
⚠️ There are NO extensions for providing copies to recipients.
⚖️ PENALTIES FOR NOT FILING
Failure to file or filing late can result in:
$60–$310 per form, depending on how late
Higher penalties if the IRS believes it was intentional
Possible audits or compliance letters
Penalties add up per contractor, not per business.
📌 WHAT YOU SHOULD DO NOW
✔ Confirm all contractors paid $600+
✔ Verify correct legal name & SSN/EIN
✔ Prepare & file 1099-NEC forms
✔ Deliver copies to recipients by Jan 31
💡 If you’re unsure whether you need to file, or want this done correctly and on time — get help now.
Waiting until the last minute increases errors and penalties.

💡 Understanding Capital Gains & Dividends Can Save You THOUSANDS in Taxes
Not all income is taxed the same — and knowing the difference can change your financial future.
Here’s what every investor should know 👇
✔️ Capital gains are profits from selling assets like stocks, real estate, ETFs, or crypto
✔️ Holding assets longer than 1 year can mean LOWER tax rates
✔️ Qualified dividends are taxed more favorably than ordinary income
✔️ High earners may also be subject to the 3.8% Net Investment Income Tax (NIIT)
📌 Two people can earn the same $100,000 and pay VERY different taxes depending on how that income is earned.
Smart tax planning isn’t about how much you make — it’s about how much you keep 💰

🚨 STUDENT LOANS IN DEFAULT? READ THIS NOW 🚨
Before the IRS officially opens tax season, log into studentaid.gov and check your federal student loan status.
If your loans are in default, your tax refund is at risk once the Treasury Offset Program begins.
⚠️ This is federal law — not an opinion.
⏰ The fix:
You STILL have time to protect your refund if you act now by:
✔️ Rehabilitating your loans
✔️ Consolidating
✔️ Enrolling in an eligible repayment plan
❌ Waiting until after you file is too late.
❌ Waiting until your refund is gone is worse.
💬 Comment “CC” and I’ll send you a step-by-step guide on how to get your loans out of default before tax season opens.
