**A Life Reflection. A Family Legacy. A Call for Unity.** 🇺🇸✨

As my parents grow older and their health naturally begins to decline, I find myself drawn home more often—to Chicago, to family, to my roots.

It’s bittersweet to witness aging. But I choose to reflect on the immense strength and courage my parents embodied. In the early 1960s, they came to America with just \$500, no English, no relatives here—only each other and a job offer they hoped was real. That’s what courage looks like.

My father worked two jobs so my mother could stay home and raise us. We didn’t have everything, but we had *enough*—a pair of sneakers each school year, one pair of designer jeans ( , anyone?), and the occasional Happy Meal (though nothing beat my mom’s cooking).

What we always had—was *hope*.

We believed in the American Dream. We felt safe in our neighborhoods, proud to become citizens, and optimistic about our future.

Today, I see a great deal of fear, anger, and division. And my heart aches. But I *still* believe in what this country can be.

As a business owner, I’m living proof that the dream my parents chased is still possible. It may look different today, but it’s worth protecting.

Let’s stop turning on one another. Let’s stop vilifying those who come here in the hope of a better life. Let’s honor the courage in every immigrant story—past, present, and future.

Let’s return to *hope*.
Let’s build something *better*—together.
