What an extraordinary Halloween 🎃 weekend! The community was strong, creative and beautiful! The message of dystopian horror was on point!

Thank you to all of the organizers and volunteers who donated their time and efforts. Thank you to all of the financial supporters, we could not have done this without you. From 360 yards of black fabric to several meals a week for volunteers to prop and lighting rentals, we got it done thanks to volunteers and sponsors. Every hour and every dollar given by each person is what allowed this to happen. We are forever a grassroots operation at Bernie's Coffee Shop ✌️ Thank you to Senator Nina Turner for visiting us Saturday night!

JOIN US for a hard hitting House of Dystopian Horrors this Halloween weekend! We will peer into the future, the year 2071, when an Amazon-like company runs your healthcare, has destroyed the environment, and has the lowest paid workers toiling in despair. The experience will be topped off with an invitation to the Billionaires' Lounge for snacks and drinks.

Thank you to the Public Bank Los Angeles TEAM

BREAKING! Back-to-back wins in CA & LA. Los Angeles City Council unanimously approves motion authorizing public bank action plan, the 1st municipal bank in the US. will reinvest profits in the public interest, putting the power of capital in the hands of the people.

The LA public bank will keep capital local by investing in community enterprises and public projects. By increasing the availability of productive capital, public banks give cities access to more funding, empowering citizens to transform their local economies for the greater good.

The City will now solicit proposals to hire a consultant to write the public bank’s business plan, ensuring that the bank will be economically viable. The consultant will engage with community stakeholders to gather input on lending priorities and design a democratic public bank.

This win was a people-powered effort. Thank you Councilmembers Curren Price, Nithya Raman, Mike Bonin, Kevin de León, Monica Rodriguez, and Paul Krekorian. We did this with the support of , coalition leads . Thank you to the 100 supporting orgs and electeds, from to now.
