Financial stress doesn't stay in your bank account. It follows you to bed at 2 a.m.

It shows up as a tight chest when the mail arrives, a quiet dread about whether the money will last, and a lot of "I'm fine" said to people who love you. For so many women over 50, it's one of the heaviest things they carry, and one of the least talked about.

On 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗮𝘆, here is what I know to be true: you were never meant to carry this alone. Talking about it, asking the "embarrassing" question, and sitting with women who understand all lighten the load. Community is medicine.

If the weight feels like too much today, please reach out.

Eva Vennari shared something on the show that so many of us need to hear. 🌿

A lot of times, especially as women, we're taught to sacrifice our own desires, our own needs, even our own understanding of who we are and what we're all about, all for the benefit of others.

And what's missing from that whole social construct? The airplane oxygen mask theory. You can't help anyone else breathe if you're running out of air yourself. 💛

Putting yourself first isn't selfish. It's what allows you to keep showing up for everyone else.

💬 Where in your life have you been forgetting to put your own oxygen mask on first?

October has a way of making things clear.

The leaves don't hold on until they're ready to let go. They just change, and the whole world gets more beautiful for it.

So here's your sign: stop waiting for the perfect moment, the perfect plan, the perfect version of you. The decision you've been circling for months doesn't need more time. It needs you to make it.

You are not behind. You are not too late. Your best chapter is still ahead.

👇 What decision are you making this October?

As a Certified Financial Planner and Certified Grief Coach, I wrote My Husband Died, Now What? A Widow's Guide to Grief Recovery and Smart Financial Decisions, now in its second edition. 🌿

In it, I talk about a no-decision zone of 6 months. I don't want anyone making a major decision in that window, because when emotions are high, intellect is low, and vice versa. This is a time for grieving, not for big decisions you may regret later.

What does that mean in practice?

❌ Zero selling company 401(k) stock
❌ Zero purchasing annuities
❌ Zero purchasing life insurance

These are often the very people who will pressure you the hardest. They'll say, "You want safe," or "Just endorse this death benefit check over to me." Do not do it. Please, do not do it.

There are more guides in the book on what not to do. Ping me if you have questions. 💬

💬 What would have helped you most in the first six months after a loss?

Nobody plans for the phone call from the hospital.

But the women who come through a health scare with the most peace almost always did one thing earlier: they got a few key things in place while life was still calm.

This isn't about expecting the worst. It's about making sure that if you ever can't speak for yourself, someone you trust knows exactly what to do.

Swipe through the 5 things worth handling now, and send this to a woman who needs the nudge.

📌 Save and share this. It matters.

Many people never update the beneficiary forms on their 401(k) at work, their life insurance policies, or their annuities. They've written a will and assume it takes precedence over everything. It doesn't. 📋

A beneficiary form takes precedence over your will, or even over having no will at all. That's why, when you divorce, it's essential to update your beneficiary to your new partner.

I've witnessed the horrific angst of a woman holding a baby so small it fit between my two hands, whose second husband never changed his beneficiary. $240,000 went to his first wife.

And one more thing: children born after you've made your beneficiary designation, who aren't named on the form, get left out too.

Take 5 minutes this week and check every form. 👇

💬 When's the last time you checked the beneficiaries on your accounts?

A member shared that with us, and it says what numbers alone never can.

Most women don't walk in asking for confidence. They come in with a question about a budget, a retirement account, or a decision they've been putting off. Then something shifts. The money questions get answered, and underneath them something bigger settles in: the quiet belief that whatever comes next, they can meet it.

That's the real return. Not just a better plan, but a steadier you.

Over the years, I've had a number of single, divorced women come in whose adult sons were asking them for loans. Janice was one of them. 🌿

She told me, "Bill asked me for a $10,000 loan." I asked, "Have you ever given him a loan before?" Yes. "Has he ever paid it back?" No. So I said, "Then it's a gift."

Here's the thing: we can't blame Bill for asking if she keeps giving and never requires repayment. So how do we get out of it?

I gave Janice these words to say: "Bill, I'm working with a financial advisor now. She suggests it's in my interest, and that of my entire family, to build my own estate. We're bringing my money into better alignment so that I don't have to live with one of your kids as I get older."

Saying no isn't unkind. It's how you protect your own future. 💰

💬 Have you ever struggled to say no when family asked you for money?

Eva Vennari shared a story on the show that gave me chills. 🌿

In her early 30s, a doctor told her she would be in a wheelchair by the age of 35. The doctor who gave her that diagnosis was also in a wheelchair. And Eva said, "No, this isn't going to work for me." She decided that was not okay, and she refused to resign herself to it.

Today, she's 52, and she dances ballroom in heels. 💛

Her story is a powerful reminder of what happens when we stay in the driver's seat of our own lives and refuse to simply accept the limits handed to us.

💬 Have you ever had to say "no, this isn't going to work for me" to something that was handed to you?

Here's something I say to women often: your health and your wealth are not two separate conversations.

When a health crisis hits, it doesn't just change your body and your calendar. It changes your income, your decisions, and who has to step in and handle things on your behalf. The women who come through those seasons with the most peace are usually the ones who prepared before they had to.

That means knowing what your health insurance actually covers, having a healthcare directive in place, and keeping your important documents somewhere your family can find them.

This 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵, schedule the screening, and take care of the paperwork too. Both are ways of taking care of yourself.
