Tax Refunds are DROPPING 💰
And here’s some important things to note 📝

✔️If you didn’t pay your prep fee upfront it went through a refund bank so your preparer can be paid and the remaining balance disbursed to you. Your preparer did not steal your refund (unless you went to a shady one) 😢

✔️If you took out an advance, your refund is REDUCED by your bank fees, advance and prep fee. Again, your preparer did not steal from you.

✔️If your refund amount on “where’s my refund”is LOWER than EXPECTED that means you more than likely owed a debt and it’s been offset (your preparer didn’t take it) and in this case call the OFFSET line to verify what the debt was and the amount: 800-304-3107

✔️If you had an unexpected OFFSET and have an emergency such as Eviction, utility shut off, natural disaster you can actually request request a hardship refund review by contacting the agency the offset is through (child support/student loans)

✔️Bank applications generally show your total refund in combination with state if you have state. Make sure your reviewing both before contacting your preparer and accusing them of foul play.

The IRS opens tomorrow!! This means the IRS is now accepting and processing tax returns. Once filed, returns can be submitted, reviewed, and placed in line for refunds!!

Filing early helps avoid delays and allows time to address any issues that may come up!!
