At this morning’s staff meeting, the “research team” reminded me that eventually things would settle down and everything would be fine as long as we had kibble and a place to sleep….
What about you? Are you anxious because you’ve got your “kibble fund” at risk? Or are you just caught up in the general anxiety?

Great quote from an interesting artice:
"Intellectual life used to be fun," Mr. Haidt said. "There's an emergent community, from center left to center right, of people who feel politically homeless and are recognizing that the big division is no longer between left and right but between people who are on the extremes, who are humorless and aggressive and deluded by their passion and tribalism, versus the middle 70 percent of the country."
First He Came for Cancel Culture. Now He Wants to Cancel Smartphones
The N.Y.U. professor Jonathan Haidt became a favorite in Silicon Valley for his work on what he called the “coddling” of young people. Now, he has an idea for fixing Gen Z.

Hey there Hive Mind…we could use your help. Julie Griffard and I are going to be in Miami in April for business purposes, and after that we are taking a few days off for some RnR.
We are trying to decide whether to stay in the conference hotel near Miami(extremely nice hotel and we get the reduced corporate rate) or maybe drive to Key West for a few days.
Since we’ve never visited either, we would love some input!

I’ve been on the road since Friday….and this morning I’m presentable for work without the need for an iron. For Monday, I’ll call that a BIG WIN!
Also, I still take horrible selfies 😉
Also x2 - the Walk to end Alzheimer’s is coming up soon. Look for donation opportunities this week, and if you know anyone in Hoiston who would like to walk with me, let me know!

Excerpt from my morning research digest:
"According to FactSet’s Earnings Insights, the mention of recessionary conditions during second quarter earnings calls declined to 62 from 113 in the previous quarter. Moreover, recession mentions declined nearly 75% from the Q2 2022 peak of 238 and are on track for their lowest reading since Q4 2021. Businesses are flagging improving inflation conditions, a favorable real income outlook, and a decline in the jobs-worker gap to just above pre-pandemic levels."
While the press and at least some on Wall Street spent much of 2022 and the first half of 2023 were obsessed about an 'inevitable' recession, we encouraged our clients to stick with the plan and remain invested(in appropriate allocations) and they benefited from it.
Is your advisor helping you to w**d out facts from emotions? Do they try to predict short term market swings? How that working for you?
