📣 WE WANT TO KNOW WHAT YOU WANT TO KNOW! 👀

We’re working on our next business blog, and instead of guessing what we think you want to read about… we figured we’d just ask you! 😂

If you’re a small business owner, what tax or bookkeeping questions have you always wondered about?

💰 Business taxes
📚 Bookkeeping
🧾 What expenses are deductible
💵 Paying yourself as a business owner
🏦 Business bank accounts
📊 Understanding your financial statements
👩‍💼 S-Corp questions
📅 Tax deadlines
💻 QuickBooks
😵‍💫 Or something else that makes you say, “Wait… am I doing this right?”

Your question could become the topic of our next blog—and chances are, if you’re wondering about it, another business owner is too!

💗 Giving from the heart in 2026? The tax rules have changed.

Good news for many families who take the standard deduction: qualifying cash gifts may now provide a federal deduction of up to $1,000, or $2,000 for married couples filing jointly.

There is also a new rule for people who itemize—and business owners need to know when a community payment is truly a donation versus advertising or sponsorship.

We broke it down in plain language, including:
✅ What may qualify
✅ What does not qualify
✅ Which receipts you should keep
✅ What the new rule means for itemizers
✅ How businesses should record donations and sponsorships

Because generosity comes from the heart—but the IRS still wants the paperwork. 😉

✨ Meet Adrieanna! ✨

We’re so excited to welcome Adrieanna Hill to the Cox Accounting family as our new Administrative Assistant! 🤍

Adrieanna will be the friendly voice you hear when you call, the face you see when you walk through our doors, and one of the people helping keep our office organized and our clients taken care of. We’re excited for her to be the first point of contact for so many of you!

But we also wanted you to get to know the person behind the desk, so we asked her a few fun questions. 😂

Adrieanna is a mama of three, a proud chicken lady 🐔, a night owl, a Halloween lover, and a 90s alternative music fan. Her perfect day off? Naps + movies. And her coffee order is a PJ’s iced white chocolate latte with TWO shots of espresso — priorities. ☕😂

She’s originally from Buras, has called the Westbank home for 15 years, and now lives in Amite with her family.

We’re so happy to have her here and can’t wait for all of our clients to get to know her!

Welcome to the Cox Accounting family, Adrieanna! We’re so glad you’re here! 🤍

When you hear “no tax on tips” or “no tax on overtime,” it sounds pretty simple. But as most of us already know, tax laws rarely come without fine print. 😉

We know our clients are busy working, caring for their families, and running their businesses. You should not have to sort through pages of IRS language just to understand how a new tax law may affect you.

Our latest blog breaks it down in everyday language, including:

💗 Who may qualify
💗 What part of tips or overtime may be deductible
💗 What employees should keep track of
💗 What business owners need to know about payroll

At Cox Accounting & Tax Services, we are a local, family-owned firm—and we believe you deserve an explanation that actually makes sense.

This morning’s office? The carline. 😂💻

One of our clients had an issue that needed attention, and it wasn’t going to wait until I made it back to my desk — so we handled it right then and there.

That’s one of the things we love about being a small, family-run firm. You’re not just another name on a client list. When something comes up, you have real people who know you, know your business, and genuinely care about getting it taken care of.

Sometimes client service looks like a nice office and a scheduled meeting… and sometimes it looks like a laptop open in the carline. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Small firm. Personal service. The kind that matters. 🤍

📅 Your tax extension just checked the calendar—and October 15 is getting closer!

If your 2025 tax return is still on extension, now is the time to gather those missing documents, catch up your bookkeeping, and send us any questions. Receipts have a special talent for hiding until the week of the deadline, so let’s not give them the chance. 😉

Read our latest blog for three simple steps you can take now:

We are a day late posting this, but we couldn’t let it go by without wishing Cheyenne a very Happy Birthday! 💗Cheyenne Meche

If you know Cheyenne, you know she is a huge part of what keeps things moving around here — helping clients, keeping up with the details, answering questions, and jumping in wherever she is needed.

Between office-moving chaos, client work, and all the normal “where did we put that?” moments, we may be late on the post… but we are right on time with being thankful for her. 😅

Cheyenne, we are so grateful for you and all you do for Cox Accounting and our clients. We pray this next year brings you joy, blessings, peace, and maybe at least one day with no interruptions. 😂

Help us wish Cheyenne a Happy Belated Birthday! 🎉

September 15 is almost here—and apparently, the IRS did not get the memo that we are still catching up from summer. 😅

This deadline may apply if you:

✅ Make quarterly estimated tax payments
✅ Have an extended partnership or S corporation tax return
✅ Still have bookkeeping or documents your tax preparer needs

Our latest blog explains what to check now—because receipts still refuse to organize themselves!

Not sure whether the September 15 deadline applies to you? Contact our office. We’ll be glad to help.
