September is a great time to start planning. If you're on Medicare, your plan's Annual Notice of Change should arrive by September 30. This outlines what's changing with your coverage for next year, including costs, benefits, and provider networks.

Before enrollment opens, take time to review your current plan, note any changes in your health needs, and compare your options. A little preparation now can help you make a more confident decision when the time comes.

As we head into the final months of the year, it's worth asking: does a Roth conversion make sense for you?

Converting pre-tax retirement funds to a Roth IRA means paying taxes now, but the trade-off could be tax-free growth and withdrawals in retirement. Roth IRAs also have no Required Minimum Distributions during your lifetime, which gives you more flexibility with how and when you use your money.

A Roth conversion isn't right for everyone, but for some, it can be a powerful long-term strategy. The key is running the numbers before December 31.

A few things to consider before year-end:

• Are you on track to max out your 401(k) contributions? The 2026 limit is $24,500 (or $32,500 if you're 50+)
• Have you reviewed your IRA contributions? The limit is $7,500, or $8,600 if you're 50+
• If you're between 60 and 63, you may be eligible for an enhanced catch-up contribution of up to $11,250
• If you're 73 or older, don't forget about your Required Minimum Distribution deadline on December 31

Small adjustments now can make a meaningful difference down the road.

Hit a financial setback? Reset starts here. 🔁💡

Setbacks happen—but staying stuck doesn’t have to. Here’s how to rebuild your savings momentum, one step at a time:

🧾 Reset your budget: Strip it back to the essentials—housing, food, utilities, transportation.
🏁 Start small (really small): $10–$25 per paycheck still counts. It’s about momentum, not size.
🛟 Build a mini safety net first: Aim for $500–$1,000 before anything else.
✂️ Cut one expense today: One subscription or habit = immediate progress.
🔄 Redirect extra cash: Bonuses, tax refunds, side income → straight to savings.
📆 Commit to a 30-day reset: Don’t overthink it—just stay consistent for one month.

Small moves. Big rebuild.
