What does a Financial Coach do?

Financial coaches help individuals and families create budgets, improve credit, reduce debt, build savings, and set financial goals. They work for nonprofits, credit unions, community organizations, and financial education programs.

Salary Range:
Approximately $58,000–$79,000 per year in South Carolina, based on 2026 salary estimates. Actual pay varies by employer, experience, and responsibilities.

Education Requirements:
A college degree isn’t always required! Employers may value experience in financial education, customer service, or community services. Professional certifications can improve career opportunities.
