Why a "Quality Control" background matters for your taxes... 🧐
Before I fully transitioned into the world of finance and taxes, I spent 14 years in Quality Control. My entire job revolved around one thing: finding the tiny discrepancies that everyone else missed.
In the world of tax preparation, that "QC" mindset is my secret weapon. Here’s how it helps you:
Precision Over Speed: I don’t just "plug and play." I inspect every document for inconsistencies that could trigger an audit or leave money on the table.
Documentation Integrity: I treat your tax file with the same rigor I used for high-level technical documentation.
Catching the Details: Whether it’s a missed deduction or a simple data entry error, my eyes are trained to spot the outliers.
Tax season can be stressful, but you can rest easy knowing that your return has been through a "Quality Control" expert's hands before it ever hits the IRS.

Allow me to introduce myself!
My name is Sarah Stewart, and I’m the face behind Stewart Tax Services. Beyond the numbers, I’m a wife and a mom to two amazing kids (ages 12 and 3).
I’ve always had a passion for numbers, which has led me through a diverse and rewarding career:
20 years of experience in simple personal tax preparation.
3 years specialized in small business finance and tax prep.
14 years in quality control, where I developed a sharp eye for finding discrepancies.
I am proud to be partnered with Kings Tax and Accounting Services. This partnership allows me to provide you with the best of both worlds: personal, dedicated service backed by a professional firm. Most importantly, it gives me access to top-tier tax preparation and bookkeeping software, ensuring your filings are handled with the most advanced tools available today.
When I’m not working with numbers, you can usually find me with my family, cross-stitching, or spending time outdoors in nature. I find that the patience and precision required for cross-stitching go hand-in-hand with the focus I bring to your tax documents!
Whether you're filing for yourself or your business, I'm here to ensure everything is accurate and stress-free.

3 quick things you can do to prepare for the end of the year:
1. Max out 401(k) contributions: Unlike IRAs, these usually must be processed through payroll by year-end.
2. Charitable Giving: Donations must be made by the 31st to count for the 2025 return.
3. Spend that FSA: Check your "use it or lose it" Flexible Spending Account balances and use them up for medical supplies or new glasses.
Not sure if you've missed a deduction? Send me a DM for a quick year-end check-in!

Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving in the United States, is considered the beginning of the Christmas shopping season.
Black Friday dates back to the 1960s in Philadelphia. Police officers used the phrase to describe the heavy, disruptive pedestrian and vehicular traffic that would flood the city on the day after Thanksgiving.
The term also comes from the idea that this day was when retailers' accounts finally moved from being "in the red" (losing money) to "in the black" (making a profit) for the year.
The concept of Black Friday expanded nationally in the 1980s, driven by retailers embracing the narrative of massive, one-day sales. It has since evolved into an extended shopping event that kicks off the holiday retail season, often starting sales weeks before the actual day.
How to Prepare and Win Big: Set a budget, make a wish list, do your research, sign up for early access, and plan your attack! If you wait until Black Friday to make your large purchases, you will save money overall and have more left over to spend on other things!

A couple of year-end tax moves to consider:
Maximize contributions to a 401(k), traditional IRA ($7,000 max, or $8,000 if 50+), or SEP/Solo 401(k) before December 31st to lower your taxable income for the year.
Tax-Loss Harvesting—selling investments at a loss to offset capital gains and up to $3,000 of ordinary income. Be careful with this one - the wash sale rule applies when you sell at a loss!

This would be great! But...
Since the minimum wage hasn't doubled in over 30 years, 100% of it goes to the needs section to pay for food, clothing, rent, etc.
Median Rent - $1535.00mo. / 40 = $38.50 per hour just to pay the rent.
That's an $80K a year job (That's the actual minimum wage). 60% of Americans make $60K per year or less.
Poverty would be about the halfway point at $40k
Middle class starts at 4x the minimum wage which is $320K
Upper middle class terminates at $480K about where the Biden taxes on the wealthy begin. ($460K).
Being smart with your taxes is a great way to reduce the amount given to the ones who run our economy and create the policies to line their pockets. Let me help you reduce your tax burden this upcoming tax season!
