The IRS has announced additional tax relief for individuals and businesses affected by Hurricane Isaias.
New Federal Tax Deadlines:
Alabama: February 4, 2027
Florida: February 8, 2027
Alabama: The relief includes Baldwin, Mobile, Escambia, Washington, and numerous other counties.
Florida: Qualifying counties include:
Baker, Bay, Calhoun, Citrus, Columbia, Dixie, Escambia, Franklin, Gadsden, Gilchrist, Gulf, Hamilton, Holmes, Jackson, Jefferson, Lafayette, Leon, Levy, Liberty, Madison, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Suwannee, Taylor, Wakulla, Walton, and Washington.
What does this mean for taxpayers?
✅ Individuals who obtained a valid extension for their 2025 federal income tax return may have additional time to file.
✅ Certain business tax returns, payroll tax filings, and other deadlines may also qualify.
Important: The extension does not eliminate taxes originally due April 15, 2026. Interest and applicable penalties on unpaid balances may still apply.
If you live or operate a business in an affected county and haven't filed your 2025 taxes, you may have more time than you realize!
