⏳ The Countdown is On: April 15th is Almost Here!🚨🚨🚨
The tax deadline is fast approaching, and whether you’re expecting a direct deposit or preparing to settle a balance, now is the time to finalize your filing.
Understanding your status is key to a stress-free Tax Day. Here is a quick breakdown of what the deadline means for you:

💰 If You Are Receiving a Refund
• Don't Leave Money on the Table: The sooner you file, the sooner your refund can be processed.
• The Three-Year Rule: While there is technically no penalty for filing late if you are owed a refund, you must file within three years to claim that money before it becomes property of the U.S. Treasury.

📉 If You Will Owe the IRS
• Avoid Penalties: Even if you cannot pay the full amount immediately, file by the deadline to avoid the "failure to file" penalty, which is often much higher than the "failure to pay" penalty.
• Payment Plans: The IRS offers various payment arrangements and installment agreements. We can help you explore these options to find a manageable solution.
• Extension vs. Payment: Remember, an extension to file is not an extension to pay. Any taxes owed are still due by April 15th to avoid accruing interest.

🗣️Don’t wait until the last minute! If you have questions about your specific tax situation or need assistance crossing the finish line, I am here to help.

🚨TAX DEADLINES YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR 2026 🚨
Tax season is not over just because you filed… there are multiple deadlines people forget every year 👀💰

📌 April 15, 2026
✅ Last day to file your personal tax return (1040)
✅ Last day to file an extension (Form 4868)
⚠️ Extension gives you more time to FILE… NOT more time to PAY

📌 October 15, 2026
✅ Deadline if you filed an extension

📌 Estimated Taxes Due (Self-employed / 1099 / business owners)
💰 April 15
💰 June 15
💰 September 15
💰 January 15

📌 Business Returns Deadlines
📊 March 16 – S-Corp & Partnerships due
📊 April 15 – C-Corp due
📊 September 15 – Extended S-Corp / Partnership due
📊 October 15 – Extended C-Corp due

⚠️ Missing deadlines = penalties + interest
⚠️ Extension does NOT stop penalties if you owe
⚠️ Self-employed must pay quarterly

Taxes is not just filing one time a year… it’s year-round. 📑🔥

💰Understanding IRS Cycle Codes & Refund Timing💰
If you’ve already filed your taxes and are anxiously refreshing “Where’s My Refund?”, let’s talk about what really controls your update and deposit dates — your IRS transcript cycle code.
🌀 What Is a Cycle Code?
Your cycle code tells you when the IRS processes your return and when updates will post to your account. Every taxpayer falls into one of two categories:
✅ DAILY Cycle Code: Ends in 01-04
Updates happen Monday through Friday (except holidays).
You’ll typically see transcript updates midweek, with your Direct Deposit (DD) date showing on Friday.
Example from the chart below: If your return falls in the Jan 26–Feb 15 window, your transcript may update 2/18/2026, WMR (Where’s My Refund) updates 2/19/2026, and your deposit could hit by 2/23/2026.
✅ WEEKLY Cycle Code: Ends in 05
Updates happen only once a week — on Saturdays.
This means your refund may update and deposit a few days later than daily cycle filers.
Example: For the same Jan 26–Feb 15 window, the update hits 2/20/2026, WMR on 2/21/2026, and deposit by 2/25/2026.
📆 What This Means for You
✨ Daily filers often see movement first — usually midweek.
✨ Weekly filers (code ending in "05") tend to see changes over the weekend.
✨ Path Act (EITC/ACTC) returns still follow the required IRS hold — no refunds before mid-February, even if your return was accepted early.
🔍 Pro Tip:
You can find your cycle code on your IRS Tax Transcript (look for a code like 20260605 — the last two digits are key).
If it ends in 01–04, you’re a daily cycle.
If it ends in 05, you’re a weekly cycle.
⏰ Bottom Line:
Refund timing comes down to when your return is processed, not just when it was accepted.
So don’t panic if someone else sees an update before you — your cycle code determines your update window!

Good afternoon everyone!☀️💕 I will officially start taking office/ virtual appointments on Monday, 1/19/26 for the 2025 tax season. Please make sure that you have all needed documentation to accurately file your return before starting your intake form or booking an appointment. This includes but is not limited to,..ALL w2s, 1099s, ip pins, banking information, marketplace healthcare forms, dependent info, 1098-T, etc.
🚨 I do not file tax returns by using your last check stub. It is also important to file EVERY single w2 that you received for the year. The irs CAN hold your refund if your income filed does not match what they have in their record for you!
🚨 Your intake form must be completed PRIOR to your appointment. If you book an appointment and I have not received your intake form, your appointment will be canceled. If you have any questions while filling out the intake form, please shoot me a call/text so that i can assist.
🚨 Please call the Treasury Offset Line at 1-800-304-3107 to make sure that you do not have any pending offsets. Please inform me of any offsets BEFORE filing your taxes, so that we can handle the situation accordingly.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please send me an inbox, email, or text. I look forward to helping you maximize your refund this tax season!😊💸

🖤Tax Tip Tuesday – Wake Up Call! 🚨

Did you know the average taxpayer misses out on $400–$800 in deductions every year simply because they don’t keep records or ask the right questions? 😳
That’s money you’re working for but handing back to the IRS.

📌 Whether it’s mileage, medical bills, childcare, or business expenses, every dollar counts. The key is documentation + the right tax preparer.

Stop leaving free money on the table. This season, make sure you’re maximizing what’s yours with 217 Tax Solutions 👩🏾‍💻

🚨Tax Updates for Checking Refund Status🚨

🚫 STOP checking “Where’s my refund”. It is NOT the most accurate way to check your refund status.
✅ Pull your tax transcripts instead to check the status of your tax refund.

Here’s a step by step on how to successfully pull your tax return transcript and check the status of your refund.

Steps to pull your tax transcript are found below:
Step #1: Go to irs.gov
Step #2: Click on “sign into your account”
Step #3: Under Individual click “sign in to online account”.
Step #4: Create an account if you don’t have one or sign in with the existing account if you do.
**It will say “WELCOME your name”..*
Step #5: Once you get into your account go to the “menu” at the top right corner.
Step #6: Select “Records and Status” then click on “Tax Records”.
Step #7: Once the tax records page opens you will click “view your transcripts”.
**The transcript page will pop up scroll down to the section that says “Account Transcripts”.**
Step #8: Under “Account Transcripts” click the tax year 2024 (if it is blank they have not processed it yet).
Step #9: Once the transcript populates go to where it says, “TRANSACTIONS” and find the codes under it to the left side.
Step #10: Read codes then relate back to this status and find the meaning. YOU ARE LOOKING FOR code 846 that will show your DATE. Normal codes to see while waiting are 150, 766 and 768.

IF YOUR TRANSCRIPTS are BLANK just be PATIENT that means you are waiting for them to process it. Do not worry UNLESS it has been more than 21 days from the opening of the PATH act. And even then an empty page does not mean anything bad.

Thank you,
217 Tax Solutions💛
