Allow me to reintroduce myself…

I’m Christen “Chris” Ridge, owner of CYR Tax & Consulting LLC, and I’ve been in the tax industry for 15 years.

What started as a career working with numbers has grown into something much bigger for me. I genuinely enjoy helping people understand their taxes, make informed financial decisions, and feel confident about what’s being filed in their name.

Over the years, I’ve gained experience working with individual taxpayers, families, self-employed clients and small business owners. My services also extend beyond simply preparing a return—I assist with amendments, IRS transcripts and tax issues, and I believe strongly in educating my clients along the way.

I’m also proud to pour my knowledge into the next generation of tax professionals through CYR Tax Boot Camp, where I train and mentor preparers to understand the why behind a tax return—not just how to enter numbers into software.

Even after 15 years, I’m still learning, sharpening my skills and staying up to date because my clients deserve a knowledgeable professional who takes their business seriously.

If you’ve been claiming EXEMPT on your W-4 and having little to no federal taxes withheld from your paycheck, now is a good time to REVIEW and UPDATE that W-4! 👀

Don’t wait until tax season and be surprised when your refund is smaller than expected—or worse, you OWE! 😩

📢 2026 TAX UPDATE: Standard Deductions Have Increased! 💰

New tax year = new numbers to know! 👀 The 2026 standard deduction amounts have been updated, which could mean more of your income is protected from federal income tax.

Whether you’re Single, Married Filing Jointly, Married Filing Separately, or Head of Household, knowing the updated numbers now can help you plan ahead for the upcoming tax season.

🚨 PARENTS — HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT TRUMP ACCOUNTS? 🚨

If you have children, this is a new tax-related update you definitely want to know about! 👶🏽💰📚

A Trump Account is a new tax-advantaged retirement account that can be established for eligible children under age 18 who have a valid Social Security number.

💰 And here’s the BIG part:
Eligible children who were born in 2025, 2026, 2027, or 2028 may qualify for a ONE-TIME $1,000 contribution from the U.S. Treasury to get their account started! 🙌🏽

To qualify for the $1,000 pilot contribution, the child generally must:

✅ Be born between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2028
✅ Be a U.S. citizen
✅ Have a valid Social Security number
✅ Meet the qualifying-child requirements for the person making the election
✅ Have an election submitted for the $1,000 contribution

📌 Already filed your 2025 tax return and didn’t sign your child up?

DON’T PANIC! You do NOT need to amend your tax return just for this.

The IRS now allows eligible parents/authorized individuals to submit Form 4547 — Trump Account Election(s) electronically through their IRS Individual Online Account.

This is exactly why continuing education matters in the tax industry! Tax laws change, new opportunities become available, and my job is to make sure my clients and community stay INFORMED. 💡

Parents of babies born in 2025–2028, this is one update you want to pay attention to! 👶🏽💵
