The flat reading in ‌retail sales last month followed an unrevised 0.6% increase in November, the Commerce Department's Census ‌Bureau on Tuesday. Economists polled by Reuters had forecast retail sales, which are mostly goods and are not adjusted for inflation, would rise by 0.4%.

Tech entrepreneurs have played a steadily increasing role across the global economy in the past 10 years. First, they mastered e-commerce, social media and digital payments. More recently, they engineered the generative AI boom, while also developing cybersecurity, fintech, 3D printing and robotics.

Meanwhile, industrial billionaires also increased their wealth, as nations raced to sharpen their competitive edge, especially in the green economy, to deal with demographic challenges and to support the trend of reshoring. In the materials industry, the competition for commodities, which intensified during the early stages of the green energy transition, saw billionaire wealth rise to USD 1.8 trillion.

What does this tell us? Tech founders are already leading the way towards the industries of the future, pursuing their visions with high conviction and an appetite for risk. We expect that risk-taking billionaires will be at the forefront of generative AI, renewables and electrification.

In other words, in this time of rapid change, the roster of billionaires may well be subject to a high degree of churn.

The term “bubble” refers to a substantial and sustained mispricing of an asset. Bubbles are nothing new, they are a recurring phenomenon in property markets, for example, where historical data can reveal patterns of excess.

The UBS Global Real Estate Bubble Index gauges the risk of a property bubble on the basis of these patterns. However, the index cannot predict when a correction will set in or what this correction will look like: a deflation or a pop.

🏦 La tasa de interés promedio de créditos de viviendas a más de tres años en UF, en octubre de este año, fue de 4,16%, es decir, su menor nivel desde diciembre 2021, cuando alcanzó una tasa de 4%, o en 46 meses, según informó el Banco Central.

💵 En esta línea, el subsidio para viviendas nuevas de hasta UF 4.000, arrojó que al 24 de octubre, es decir, cinco meses desde su implementación, recibió 33.798 solicitudes, de las cuales, 17.926 ya fueron aprobadas, 12.123 están siendo evaluadas y 3.749 han sido rechazadas.
