With Trump Accounts now here, what should you know?
A Trump Account is basically a nondeductible traditional IRA designed for children, with a few unique rules. Most families can use it as something to add alongside an existing savings strategy (not something that replaces it). But those that are eligible can receive a $1,000 federal contribution to get the account started.
Reach out if you'd like guidance or support setting one up for your children!

If you paid meaningful IRS penalties or interest on returns during COVID, the outcome of the Kwong v. United States court case could result in a potential refund for you. The catch is that you have to file a protective claim by July 10 to qualify without yet knowing how the courts will rule on the case.
Before the deadline hits, let's find out if a protective claim makes sense for you — reach out and we'll review your situation to determine your next steps.

Do some good while getting an updated professional headshot!
I’m partnering with .by.abbey to fundraise for the Cleveland Foster Care Closet through two exclusive headshot events on June 29 and July 2. When you book one of the 30 spots available during the event, $100 of your payment goes toward . The money raised will go directly to filling the nonprofit's emergency orders, replenishing their closet, and the creation of their Lobby and Sensory Room.
You can get more information here about the worthwhile cause - hope to see you at Golf & Lounge in Bay Village next week. https://www.wildflowerbyabbey.com/look-good-do-good

📢 Second quarter estimated tax payments are due next month! 📢
If you’re self-employed, don’t have enough withheld from your full-time job’s W-2, or earn significant side hustle money, this is a reminder that your Q2 payments are due on June 15.
Not sure if you should be making payments or how much you should be paying? To avoid penalties, you want to get this squared away. Falling into any of the above categories means you likely need to make these estimates – but if you aren’t sure you meet the threshold, schedule a consult session with me to go over your financial strategy. We'll walk through your obligations together and come up with the best approach for you.

If you plan to make charitable donations this year, be sure to track them, even if you take the standard deduction! Under the new tax law, individuals that don’t itemize can deduct up to $1,000 ($2,000 for married taxpayers) of donations to charities in 2026.
While a small shift in the tax law (I know, a thousand dollar deduction isn’t a huge tax break), it does at least get you a deduction donating to the causes you care about. Just note that donations must be in the form of cash contributions (sorry, those donated bags of clothing don't count) and go toward qualified charities (those with 501(c)(3) status).
Reach out to talk about your tax strategy when it comes to donating to the nonprofits you support (they need you!). As with anything in life, little efforts can have a big impact to help those that need it most.

POV
Wednesday is April 15, and you just told your CPA you haven't done your taxes yet.
Consider this your reminder to:
👉 File your taxes or an extension
👉 If you owe taxes, pay them or sign up for an installment plan
👉 If you can’t electronically file any of your returns, make sure you mail in paper returns
👉 If you pay quarterly estimates, you need to pay your Q1 estimate
If you need help, reach out!

The 4/15 deadline is coming up quickly, and we all know what that means—individual tax returns are due! Plus, if you’re one of the lucky taxpayers that pays quarterly estimates, don’t forget that the first quarter of 2026 payments are also due on 4/15.
What to consider 👉
Right now, focus on making sure your tax return is paid and filed by the deadline or see if you need to extend. Just remember that an extension gives you more time to file, not more time to pay. Interest and penalties on balances due will start accumulating on 4/15 no matter what.
Know your options 👉
If you can’t pay your balance, you can set up an installment plan with the IRS. These plans currently have a 7% interest rate, which is often lower than most credit cards.
As the deadline quickly approaches, let’s get the best tax return for you!

Heads up: March 15 filing deadline (and it’s okay to extend).
If you run an S corporation or partnership, your business return is due March 15 (calendar-year filers). If you’re not ready, breathe... filing an extension is perfectly fine and gives you six more months.
Just remember: the extension moves the paperwork due date, not the time to pay any tax due.
Bottom line: Don’t stress; extensions are normal. Use them to lock in the best tax moves (like bigger write‑offs and QBI) and file a clean, accurate return.
