📣 We’re out of the office for the next few days!

We’re trading our desks for the Oklahoma Hospitality Expo! 🍽️🏨✨

Our office will be closed August 18–20 while Kelsey and I are attending the Oklahoma Restaurant Association’s Hospitality Expo, meeting Oklahoma business owners, learning, networking, and sharing how Tosha Inman CPA can help hospitality businesses (and the people behind them!) thrive!

We’ll be back in the office Monday, August 24 and will respond to messages as soon as we can.

And if you’re at the Expo, come find us and say hi! 👋

We’d love to see some familiar faces.

True or false? You only need to think about taxes once a year!

Comment below!

Actually, for business owners, tax builds up throughout the year, not just at tax time.

Checking in regularly helps you stay prepared, avoid penalties especially if you are required to pay on a set schedule, and make smarter decisions along the way.

If taxes feel overwhelming, the answer is not to ignore them.

It is to give them a little attention consistently to make tax time far less stressful.

Your Profit and Loss report can quickly show where money is going, especially in areas that may be creeping up without you noticing.

Here’s how you can do it:

- Run a Profit and Loss Comparison or Profit and Loss by Month report

- Set your date range and accounting method

- Compare to the Previous Period or Previous Year

- Review dollar and percentage changes to spot spending trends or spikes

Check for subscriptions you no longer use, rising software costs, or expenses that don’t directly support your goals.

A quick review of your Profit and Loss report each month can help you stay in control and make smarter decisions.

To keep your books clean and up to date, we typically need:

- Bank and credit card statements

- Details on income and payments received

- Receipts for business expenses

- Notes on refunds, transfers, or large purchases

- Any changes to subscriptions or recurring expenses

Most of this can be automated with better systems.

Sharing this information consistently helps keep your numbers accurate and makes tax season much smoother.

If you want a better system for your accounting, send us a message or book a call.

Your pricing should cover expenses, support owner pay, and leave room for profit.

If you’re busy but still feeling financially stretched, your pricing may not be aligned with your goals.

A few things to check:

- Are your monthly expenses fully covered?

- Are you paying yourself consistently?

- Does your pricing support profit, not just revenue?

Your financial reports can tell you quickly whether your pricing is working or needs adjustment.

If you’re unsure, it may be time to review your numbers and pricing together. Reach out when you’re ready for clarity and support.

It’s not revenue...

It’s profit.

Profit shows that the business is actually working, not just busy.

It means...

- Expenses are under control
- Pricing is supporting the business
- There’s room to pay yourself and plan ahead

Seeing healthy profit tells me my clients can make decisions with confidence instead of guessing.

That’s when business feels lighter and more intentional.

If you’re not sure what your reports are really telling you, it may be time to take a closer look at your numbers.
