PLEASE check your spam folders periodically for emails from safe senders. We are REPLYING to client emails (so two email addresses that have communicated before) and these emails are now going directly to their spam. I've had at least half dozen clients in last few days and most clients understandably aren't checking spam as they've seen my email before. I'm told this is a Yahoo to Gmail thing? Not sure if some New Year policy or something. But check your spam periodically and add email to Safe Senders and if you have any advice for us it's appreciated. Having to call every single client we email reply to (so they don't think we're ignoring them) will get cumbersome very quickly.

To the hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of Rock Financial Corp. clients spanning three generations: WE DID IT! 7 month tax season last year and a 5 month tax season this year….3 tax seasons in two years! We powered through unprecedented times and became experts on new credits, tax deferments, stimulus payments, new laws dropping midseason and many, many forms of pandemic relief
- To the struggling couple that was on unemployment benefits most of the year we've exempted you from taxation using new tax laws that dropped mid March.
- To the multi property landlord we used previously unallowed losses on other properties to turn a five figure gain from an investment property sale into a five figure refund
- To the struggling small business owner we utilized Federal programs to keep your half dozen employees on payroll until your business was able to get back on it's feet.
- To the multi million dollar stock seller we procured additional unreported cost basis to keep your tax bill below half a million.
- To the couple with a few kids in college we voluntarily taxed scholarship money to procure Education credits that exceeded the aforementioned additional taxation.
- To the self employed taxpayer we incorporated a business, set you up with a payroll plan and saved you five figures in self employment taxes.
- To the couple that sold their principal home we were able to exempt almost $600k in gross gains because we began planning for this day 15 years ago when first purchased with proper annual record keeping.
- To the new self employed worker we assisted with your quarterly estimated payments to ensure no huge tax bill surprises with your tax filing while ensuring your daily cash flow wasn't effected more than it needed to be.
I had a taxpayer tell me this season "Thank you thank you! I'll bet It feels great to get our return crossed off the list (with more to come) and appreciate your hard work!" When I look back and think about their over 100 pages of tax docs and two pages of checklist items spanning three months of work…yes, it actually does feel good and the appreciation is mutual and doesn't stop here. In over 40 years Rock has spread nationwide amassing clients in Seattle, Cali, New York. Florida, the Carolinas…all originating mainly via word of mouth from a small boutique shop on the outskirts of downtown Chicago. If the last two years taught us anything whether you're a full service Texas Corporate client or an Individual client down the block from my house, I do not take your business for granted. We appreciate your continued business greatly and look forward to many more decades (maybe add a fourth generation of clients?) working together. We did it! THANK YOU!
Client testimonial: "That was a lot of forms and I really appreciate you looking out for us. It's nice to deal with someone we can trust. Thank you so much."
Looks like Illinois has approved most of their tax forms so we should now be good to efile most IL returns.

Interest will still be accrued during this period but the penalty grace period is certainly welcome. https://news.fidelity.com/news/news.jhtml?cat=Economy.US&articleid=201203071418CNN_____MONEY____-2012-03-07-pf-taxes-tax_penalty_relief-index_htm&IMG=N
