File taxes by EOD today or file and extension. For those panicking, NEITHER the IRS NOR Alexis Robins is shutting down today. That's not how it works. We're still open. You can call us for Tax, Accounting and Advisory services tomorrow and the next day and the next like any other day. If you miss filing today, let's work on it tomorrow. You're not going to die. I'll file it tomorrow. If you owe the IRS and/or State, there may be failure-to-file penalty and interest. It always safe to file an extension. IRS form 4868; NY 370. Check with your state to see if you're required to file a separate extension. It's not an extension to pay any amount you owe but an extension to file your taxes.
