Under the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA),
many are still hesitant about Beneficial Owner Information (BOI) reporting.

BOI reporting has been suspended by the 5th Circuit US Court of Appeals. In this regard, on March 25, 2025, the full bench of the Appeal Court will decide whether the reporting is constitutional or not.

BOI reporting is not mandatory until March 25, 2025, unless the US Department of Treasury appeals 5th Circuit order to the US Supreme Court. Businesses will not be penalized for not reporting. However, any business can voluntarily report.

Whether reporting is required will depend on the decision of the full bench hearing of the Court of Appeal on March 25 this year. You can wait till then.

The due date to file income tax return for those who have filed extensions is October 15, 2024. But you can save money on interest and penalty if you file ASAP.

যারা এপ্রিলের ১৫ তারিখের ভিতরের টেক্স ফাইল করেন নি বা এক্সটেনশন বা সময় নিয়েছেন তাদের জন্য করনীয়:

টেক্স ফাইলের শেষ দিন ১৫ ই এপ্রিল এর ভিতর যারা টেক্স ফাইল করতে পারেননি তারা যত তাড়াতাড়ি সম্ভব আইআরএস এর পেনাল্টি ও ইন্টারেস্ট থেকে টাকা বাঁচানোর জন্য টেক্স ফাইল করা উচিত। কারণ যত দেরি করবেন পেনাল্টি ও ইন্টারেস্ট বড় হতে থাকবে।

যারা ফাইল করার জন্য এক্সটেনশন বা সময় বাড়িয়ে নিয়েছেন তারাও যত তাড়াতাড়ি সম্ভব ট্যাক্স ফাইল করে নেওয়া উচিত। কারণ এক্সটেনশন নিয়ে সময় বাড়ানো মানে টেক্স পরিশোধের সময় বাড়ানো নয়। Extension এর মাধ্যমে আপনি লেইট ফাইলিং ফেনাল্টি থেকে মাফ পাবেন কিন্তু আপনার যদি কোন ট্যাক্স পরিশোধ করতে হয় তার উপর ইন্টারেস্ট ও নন-পেমেন্ট ফেনাল্টি এপ্রিলের ১৫ তারিখের পর থেকে গুনতে হবে।

আর যারা এপ্রিলের ১৫ তারিখের ভিতরে টেক্স ফাইল করেন নাই এবং রিফান্ড পাবেন তাদেরকে লেইট ফাইলিং পেনাল্টি দিতে হবে না। তবে তাদেরকেও যত তাড়াতাড়ি সম্ভব ফাইল করে নিতে হবে। কারণ নির্ধারিত তারিখের তিন বছরের ভিতরে টেক্সটাইল না করলে আইআরএস রিফান্ড ইস্যু করে না। এইজন্য কেউ যদি ২০২০ সালের ট্যাক্স রিটার্নের সংশোধন (Amendment) করে রিফান্ড ক্লেইম করতে চান তাহলে তার শেষ দিন আগামী মে মাসের ১৭ তারিখ। এরপর সংশোধন (Amendment) করলে আর রিফান্ড পাবেন না।
