One of the most important things you can do when it comes to creating an effective budget is to make sure it’s realistic.
It’s easy to write down some numbers on a piece of paper or put some numbers in a budgeting app but making sure those numbers reflect your actual life and spending habits is a different story.
Unfortunately there’s no magic Dollar Fairy slipping money into your wallet at night while you sleep...sad, right?...so we have to be honest with ourselves about our financial goals and how we choose to spend the money we have.
The more realistic you are about these numbers, the more likely you’ll be able to stick to your budget. If you aren’t willing to put some effort into planning, tracking and living within the boundaries of the budget you’ve set, budgeting won’t work.

The Tortoise > The Hare
When it comes to building wealth - the slow, steady and purposeful approach is always greater than the fast, unfocused and careless approach.
Building lasting wealth the right way is a slow and steady journey requiring a lot of motivation, a lot self discipline and a solid game plan.
When you keep the finish line in mind, and focus on taking your very next step, you will eventually look up and realize you’ve crossed the finish line ahead of the pack.
Slow and steady wins the race and consistency matters.
Moral of the story: Be the tortoise. He wins every time. 🐢🐢🐢
