Big Beautiful Bill Act

Congress recently passed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (H.R.1), bringing several changes that may directly impact your paycheck and benefits, some of which are retroactive to January 1, 2025.

Key Updates:

📍 No Federal Taxes on Overtime Pay

Starting in 2025, associates may not have to pay federal income tax on some overtime pay.
Associates can deduct up to $12,500 of qualified overtime pay each year.

For associates filing jointly with a spouse, the amount increases to $25,000. This deduction is available to taxpayers who itemize and taxpayers who do not itemize.

If an associate's modified adjusted gross income is more than $150,000 (single) or $300,000 (joint), the amount they can deduct may be lower.

📍 Expanded Use of Pre-Tax Dollars

There are upcoming improvements to HSA and dependent care FSA limits, most of which are effective January 1, 2026.
