💰 **LET’S TALK PAYROLL!**

Business owners with employees — what part of payroll makes you think, **“There HAS to be an easier way!”** 😩😂

🟢 **A:** Keeping track of hours & overtime
🔵 **B:** Payroll taxes & deadlines
🟡 **C:** PTO, sick time & vacation
🟠 **D:** Making sure everyone is paid correctly
🔴 **E:** Honestly…ALL OF IT! 😂

Payroll can get complicated fast, especially when you’re already trying to run a business.

👇 **Your turn!** Drop **A, B, C, D, or E** in the comments.

And if you have a payroll horror story…I want to hear that too! 😬

📊 **BUSINESS OWNER POLL**

How confident are you that your bookkeeping is accurate each month?

🟢 **A:** Very confident — everything is reconciled and reviewed monthly.

🟡 **B:** Pretty confident — I usually just trust that everything is good.

🟠 **C:** Somewhat confident — questions or errors come up occasionally.

🔴 **D:** Honestly, I’m not sure! 😬

Even with good systems in place, bookkeeping errors can happen. A duplicate transaction, something posted to the wrong account, or a missing transaction can quickly throw off your numbers.

That’s why regular reconciliations and reviews are such an important part of keeping accurate books.

**How confident are you in your numbers?**

Drop **A, B, C, or D** below! 👇

📊 **QUICK POLL FOR BUSINESS OWNERS!**

Be honest… when was the last time you reconciled your business bank AND credit card accounts? 👀

🟢 **A:** This month — I’m all caught up! 🙌
🟡 **B:** It’s been a couple of months 😬
🟠 **C:** I honestly don’t remember 🤷‍♀️
🔴 **D:** Wait… I’m supposed to reconcile those?! 😂

Drop **A, B, C, or D** in the comments! 👇

No judgment here — I’m curious how many business owners stay on top of their reconciliations each month.

💰 **Money Management Monday**

**Profit in the Bank Doesn't Always Mean Profit in Your Business**

One of the easiest mistakes to make as a business owner is looking at your bank balance and assuming that's how much money your business has available to spend.

Your bank balance doesn't tell the whole story.

Some of that money may already be spoken for:

💵 Payroll coming up
🏛️ Payroll or income taxes
💳 Credit card payments
📄 Outstanding bills
📦 Supplies needed for upcoming jobs
🔄 Recurring monthly expenses
🙋‍♀️ Your own paycheck

That's why a healthy bank balance can quickly disappear when several expenses hit at once.

**Money Management Tip:**

Before making a large purchase or taking an owner draw, look beyond today's bank balance.

Review what's due over the next 30 days and make sure those expenses are covered first.

A business can be profitable on paper and still struggle with cash flow.

Understanding the difference between **profit and available cash** can help you avoid surprises and make better decisions with your money.

**Know what's coming before you spend what's there.**

💭 **Small Business Owners**

What is the ONE part of running your business that you wish someone else would just take care of for you? 😅

🧾 Bookkeeping
💵 Invoicing & collecting payments
📊 Keeping track of expenses
👥 Payroll
🗂️ Staying organized
😬 Taxes & tax-time prep
🤷 Something else?

Drop your answer in the comments! 👇

I’d love to hear what takes up the most time—or causes the biggest headache—for other small business owners.

💰 **Money Management Monday**

**Do You Know What It Costs to Run Your Business?**

Most business owners know how much money came in last month.

But do you know how much it actually cost you to make that money?

Take a few minutes and think about:

💵 How much does it cost you to serve one customer?

📈 Which of your services or products is actually the most profitable?

💳 Are you paying for subscriptions or services you rarely use?

📊 Have your prices kept up with rising business expenses?

🙋‍♀️ Are you paying yourself enough?

It's easy to focus on bringing more money **IN** while overlooking where it's going **OUT**.

Knowing your numbers isn't about being great at math. It's about having the information you need to make better decisions.

⭐ **This week's challenge:**

Pick ONE recurring business expense and take a closer look at it.

Do you still need it?

Is there a less expensive option?

Is it actually helping your business grow?

You might be surprised what you find.

**Know your numbers. Build with confidence.**

Stop Comparing Your Beginning to Someone Else's Middle

Social media has a funny way of making us believe that everyone else's business is growing faster than ours.

We see:

The six-figure months.
The sold-out launches.
The new offices.
The announcements about hiring employees.

What we don't see are the late nights, the mistakes, the lessons learned, and the years it took to get there.

Here's your reminder today...

Someone else's success doesn't diminish yours.

Maybe this month you:

Signed one new client.
Finally raised your prices.
Opened your business bank account.
Hired your first employee.
Survived a difficult season.
Simply kept showing up.

That's worth celebrating.

Success isn't always measured by how quickly you're growing. Sometimes it's measured by the fact that you refused to quit.

Keep showing up. Your future self will thank you.

I'd love to know...

What's one thing you've accomplished in your business this year that you're proud of?

Let's celebrate together in the comments!

💼 Payroll Tip Wednesday
Payroll Doesn't Stop When an Employee Quits

Many small business owners are surprised to learn that payroll responsibilities don't end when an employee leaves.

Depending on your state, employers may have requirements regarding:

✔ Final paychecks

✔ Unused PTO payouts

✔ Benefit changes

✔ Payroll record retention

✔ New hire and termination reporting requirements

An employee's last day of work doesn't necessarily mean your payroll responsibilities are over.

Having good payroll processes in place protects both your employees and your business.

Payroll is more than paying employees—it's protecting your business every step of the way.

Please note: Final paycheck requirements vary by state.
