There's a question a lot of single women think about but rarely say out loud.
"What if I get sick - and there's no one there?"
I hear this more than you'd think.
Not just about sickness. About everything.
What if I lose my job and there's no second income?
What if I can't work for 6 months?
What if I need long-term care one day?
These aren't irrational fears. They're real risks that single women carry alone.
And the answer to all of them is the same:
You build a financial plan that accounts for the fact that you're doing this solo.
Bigger emergency fund. Stronger insurance coverage. Earlier retirement savings.
Not because being single is a problem to solve.
But because you deserve the same security that a dual-income couple has - just structured differently.
You are the safety net.
Which means your safety net needs to be strong.
Drop a โค๏ธ if this is something you've thought about but never said out loud.

A) We're doing okay lo, not complaining
B) Got money but don't know where it goes
C) Scared to check my bank account on the 28th of the month ๐
D) Actively investing and building wealth - very on top of it
E) Wah, what money? ๐
No judgment here I promise.

Confession: I used to think talking about money was very 'not humble.'
Like, wah, why so materialistic one.
Growing up, money was never something we discussed openly at home. It was just... something that was never enough, and we didn't talk about why.
It took me a long time to understand that money isn't about materialism.
It's about security. It's about options. It's about making sure the people you love are protected - no matter what happens.
That's why I do what I do.
Not to help people get rich.
But to help them sleep well at night knowing that if something unexpected happens - they have a plan.
By the grace of God, I found my purpose in this work.
And I truly believe that helping someone take control of their finances is one of the most meaningful things you can do for them.
If you're someone who's always felt a bit uncomfortable talking about money - I get it completely.
My DMs are a judgment-free zone. Always.

A lot of single women in Singapore don't realise this.
You CAN buy a home alone.
You just need to know the rules - and plan around them.
Here's the quick version:
HDB (resale): You can apply at 35 under the Single Singapore Citizen scheme.
HDB (BTO): You can apply at 35 under the Single Singapore Citizen scheme. You can only apply for 2-room flexi flats.
Private property: No age restriction. You can buy at any time as long as you can finance it.
What does this mean for you?
If you're in your late 20s or early 30s - you have time to build your down payment fund right now.
If you're approaching 35 - it's time to get serious about what you want and what you can afford.
And if you're already 35 - wah, what are you waiting for? ๐
The most expensive mistake single women make with property is waiting too long to plan for it.
Start now. Even if the purchase is 5 years away.

What I wish someone told me about money in my 30s.
I didn't grow up with financial security.
I learned most of this the hard way - through watching my family struggle, putting myself through university, and figuring it out one mistake at a time.
You don't have to.

The most expensive thing a single woman can do?
Wait for a partner to sort out her finances.
I say this with so much love - because I've seen what happens when women build their financial foundation early.
They negotiate salaries better. Because they're not financially desperate.
They leave jobs that don't serve them. Because they have savings.
They enter relationships from a place of choice. Not need.
They make property decisions on their own timeline. Not someone else's.
Financial independence doesn't mean you don't want a partner.
It means you never need to stay in the wrong situation because you can't afford to leave.
That's not a cold way to look at love.
That's the most empowering way to enter it.
Single right now? Build your foundation.
It's the best thing you can do - for yourself, and for every relationship you'll ever have.
Drop a โค๏ธ if financial independence is on your vision board this year.

I'd like to share this month's newsletter with you. It takes a look at some common financial blind spots that can easily be overlooked, and why being aware of what we have, what we're paying for and whether our financial arrangements still reflect our current circumstances is an important part of financial planning.
I hope you find it insightful!

A savings account keeps your money safe.
An investment account makes it grow.
You need both.
Most women only have one.
