*📢 Major Relief by FBR & PRAL – Account Recovery Enabled in IRIS 2.0*

FBR & PRAL have introduced the Account Recovery option in the IRIS portal. Now every taxpayer can:

Reset password via registered email/mobile (Forgot Password).

Recover account even without access to old email/mobile by updating number against CNIC (Account Recovery).

*👉 All taxpayers can apply directly through the IRIS website — no need to visit RTO for password recovery.*

BUDGET FY26

Currently, both imported and locally supplied photovoltaic cells and modules are exempt from sales tax. This exemption is disproportionately benefiting commercial importers and making the local solar industry uncompetitive due to input tax costs. Therefore, to foster a level playing field and generate revenue, it is proposed to withdraw this sales tax exemption on solar panels and PV modules.

BUDGET FY26

Adjustable withholding tax rate on cash withdrawal on non-filers proposed to be increased from 0.6% to 0.8%.
