Walang pinipiling araw ang Financial planning. Araw ng mga puso 'yon kaya dapat ini-insure ang mga mahal sa buhay. πŸ˜„

"Sige, order ka na muna diyan ha."
*sabay labas ng Ipad*

"Ano bang gusto mo, okinawa milktea o regular pay plan?"

"Ang bilis ng serving nila no? Sana 'yung desisyon mo rin mamaya."

"Sarap pala ng kape rito. By the way, insured ka na?"

"Ingat ka pauwi ha. The policy is for evaluation ka pa."

Pupunta kang inspired, uuwi kang insured. Tseret.

GIFT OF FAMILY
By: Sun Life Advisor Pax Pangonil

"Before I became a Financial Advisor, I was a non-believer in life insurance until a tragic accident happened on July 25, 2013. While driving my car, I got jarred by a 16-wheeler truck wrecking almost half of the vehicle. I was so scared and thought if I died that night, who would take care of my 2-year-old baby girl and my wife? I learned the value of life insurance the hard way.

But this story is not about me.

This is about a dear friend who got diagnosed with cancer. In just two months, she lost her battle at 46, leaving four orphans behind. Her husband passed away in 2016. She was a healthy, happy, and optimistic person. I never thought she would get sick this soon, more so, pass away too soon.

Because of our good relationship, she entrusted me her four kids. Few days before she was taken away, she called me and I sadly remember her saying: β€œPax, our friendship has a purpose, kaya tayo pinaglapit. I’m not the type who easily cries. That time, I cried...a lot.

February 25, 7:20 in the morning, I got a message from his son: "Tito Pax, wala na po si mama." I cried hard again. Since her kids were still young, my wife and I assisted them in settling some bills and on where her remains will be placed. I also filed for the claims of her policies, and Sun Life delivered the promise worth over 3 million pesos. I know for a fact that no amount of money can replace the life of their mom. But this is their mom's way of showing how much she loves them.

I never thought this would happen this early and this fast. It got me thinking that maybe this is why I was spared from that frightful accident - to help four orphans and more families. I was once a non-believer, but now a deliverer of the wonderful promise of a life insurance policy." πŸ’›

GIFT OF PERSISTENCE
By: Sun Life Advisor Mark Cabanlit

"If there is one thing that some BPO employees don't ponder a lot, it's getting life and health insurance. That is the story of one of my closest friends. Let's call her Arvie Joy. I've always tried to convince her to get an insurance policy. Still, she kept delaying it due to some financial priorities and had always told me that her company's HMO was more than enough until one day, I brought her to a lunch treat at Casa Verde restaurant and closed the deal in September 2019.

A year later, I received a message from her about the possibility of the dreaded "C" word. After repeated trips to the hospital, her worst fear happened - the doctors confirmed that she had breast cancer. I was astounded because I didn't expect that a close friend of mine would be my first ever critical illness claim, and worst, we are in the middle of a pandemic.

I immediately took action and sent all the paperwork needed for the claim. She complied right away; however, there were struggles in between as the claim was still contestable. I had to go to the hospital myself to let the doctor sign additional documents since my client needed to completely rest while undergoing chemotherapy. Three months passed, and I received an email from my Claim Specialist confirming that it was approved. I remember how happy I was during that Christmas week because deep in my heart, I knew it would be the best Christmas gift I could give her in the darkest moment of her life.

It took me four years to convince her to get a policy, and here we are, finally fulfilling that promise. She told me that if I did not continue pushing her, she would have been in significant financial distress. Moreover, it allowed her to focus on her health and recovery. Currently, she is cancer-free and is also on her journey to becoming a financial advisor."
