As TENURED FAโ€ฆ

Way back in 2017, I got my very first VUL plan long before I became a Financial Advisor. It was a basic plan with no additional riders. My reason was simple: I was a single mom, and I wanted to make sure my son would have financial protection if something happened to me. Since I was still starting out, I chose a premium that I could comfortably afford.

Then the pandemic happened.

I resigned with my job, and for almost two years, I wasnโ€™t able to pay my premiums. I also made two partial withdrawals because I really needed funds at that time. I made sure to leave enough value to keep the policy in force.

When I got back on my feet and started working again, I continued paying my premiums consistently. Today, I see it as one of my long-term savings vehicles, especially since I was able to get it at a lower premium when I was younger.

Over the years, I realized that not everyone appreciates VUL and I understand why. Sometimes itโ€™s because it was introduced simply as an โ€œinvestment.โ€

The truth is, there are many ways to invest. Banks, insurance companies, mutual funds, UITFs, stocks, and many other investment platforms all have their own purpose.

For me, VUL can be a good option for young individuals who have time on their side and are willing to stay invested for many years. It can also work for those who want insurance protection while gradually building fund value, especially when a bigger insurance budget isnโ€™t yet possible.

But if you ask me what I believe is one of the most important plans to have today, itโ€™s a Health Insurance Plan.

Because even if you have a VUL, a single hospitalization or critical illness can easily consume your savings if you donโ€™t have dedicated health protection.

At the end of the day, I donโ€™t believe thereโ€™s a โ€œbadโ€ insurance product. Every plan has its purpose. The key is understanding what youโ€™re getting, asking questions, and choosing a Financial Advisor who educates firstโ€”not someone who immediately sends a proposal without understanding your needs.

Insurance planning is a must.
Financial planning is a must. ๐Ÿค—

Many of us believe that after years of working, our company retirement benefits will be enough. The reality is, retirement today lasts much longer, and inflation keeps making life more expensive.

The question is:

How much of your assets are actually earning for you?

For most people below 60, a significant portion of their wealth should already be generating incomeโ€”not just sitting in savings or waiting for retirement.

Donโ€™t rely on just one source of income for your future.

โœจ Build assets.
โœจ Invest consistently.
โœจ Let your money work while you do.

Because financial freedom isnโ€™t about retiring somedayโ€ฆ
Itโ€™s about having choices when that day comes.

May napanood akong interview ng mag-asawa na malapit na mag-retire. Nagsimula silang mag-invest noong 1990s pa. Ngayon, ine-enjoy na nila ang bunga ng kanilang paghihintay at disiplina. they considered themselves โ€” โ€œMillionairesโ€ based on their net worth.

Start early. Stay consistent. Hayaan mong ang oras ang maging kakampi mo. ๐Ÿงกโœจ
