The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) is warning the public about a fake letter that falsely uses the name of Commissioner Charlito Martin R. Mendoza. The document claims to provide BIR guidance on a “full refund agreement” and instructs recipients to pay supposed tax obligations.
According to the BIR, this scheme involves fake letters, falsified tax language, and the unauthorized use of the Commissioner’s name to pressure individuals into making payments or following fraudulent instructions.
The public is advised to verify any suspicious letters, notices, or directives directly with the BIR before taking action, and to report any questionable documents or transactions through the Bureau’s official channels.

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has extended the temporary use of the 2020 General Information Sheet (GIS) Form for submissions through eFAST. Corporations are now given until May 15, 2026, to continue using this version while they complete their transition to the updated system.
Key points for corporations:
• The deadline for using the 2020 GIS Form has been moved to May 15, 2026
• This extension allows more time for companies to establish eSECURE accounts, which are necessary to access the Hierarchical and Applicable Relations and Beneficial Ownership Registry (HARBOR)
• The 2020 GIS Form can still be accessed at [https://bit.ly/2020GISForms](https://bit.ly/2020GISForms)
For technical support related to eFAST, eSECURE, or HARBOR, companies may visit the SEC Headquarters on the 2nd floor in Makati City or any SEC Extension Office.
