URGENT: EastWest Bank BANK CREDIT CARD FRAUD – WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?

I am absolutely furious. This is one of the most alarming financial security breaches I’ve ever seen. If this happened to me, how many others have been compromised without even knowing?

Yesterday, I received a brand-new, sealed EastWest Platinum credit card via courier. It looked untouched. I personally activated it through the EasyWay App, no shady third parties, no middlemen. Mere hours later, my entire credit limit was wiped out.

I was sitting at home when EastWest had the audacity to thank me for a ₱183,000 purchase at Electroworld-Philippines Megamall. My card was in my hands, unused. When I checked my app, my account was drained:

₱183K+ at Electroworld—approved instantly
₱50K+ spent on drones & gadgets
₱10K worth of Starbucks—because apparently, fraudsters need coffee too

And here’s what’s absolutely infuriating:

No OTP. No ID check. No verification call. Nothing. ₱183K just approved like that?

A newly activated card, compromised immediately. How? Was my data leaked before the card even reached me?

Electroworld, how are you letting six-figure transactions through with zero verification?

This isn’t just fraud, this is a massive security failure. If criminals can do this right after activation, EastWest’s system is clearly compromised. And if stores like Electroworld approve huge transactions without proper checks, how many more people are being scammed right now?

I want answers from:

Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas – How is this even allowed to happen?
Credit Bureau of the Philippines – How do we protect our credit when banks and merchants enable fraud this easily?
Abenson & Electroworld-Philippines – What kind of irresponsible verification process do you have?

I’ve reported this to EastWest, but I will not let this slide. Who else has been affected? If this happened to me, it can happen to anyone. This needs to be investigated now.

EDIT: EastWest’s head office and fraud department are already in contact with me. Last Friday, they confirmed that the sealed envelope containing my supposed credit card was, in fact, a cloned copy. Starting Monday, we’ll begin investigations into the physical stores where the card was used. This is a serious modus operandi that could be happening across any bank right now. Stay vigilant, and thank you.

What is Estate Tax and bakit mahalaga na paghandaan din ito? 🤔

The Estate Tax is a tax on your right to transfer property at your death.

Example:

Si Father ay may properties or investments worth 20 Million pesos.

Kanino mapupunta ang properties or investments ni Father upon death?

Syempre sa immediate family! Oooopss..... hindi agad makukuha ng family ang properties or pamana ni Father kasi kailangan muna nila magbayad ng 6% Estate Tax ng 20 million! Which is 1.2 million! 😱

Paano makakatulong si Life Insurance sa bereaved family para makabayad ng Estate Tax?

Wala naman silang naipon at hindi naman sila aware na may Estate Tax pang babayaran. 😬😥

What if Insured si Father ng 3 million death benefit?

Doon nila kukunin yung 1.2 million na pang bayad sa Estate Tax at kung meron pang bills na naiwan si Father.

Kaya hindi lang dapat bili ng bili ng properties. Protect yourself from life uncertainties like sickness and sudden death.
